I was presented with the choice in RedCliffe castle to kill Connor and the demon, allow Isolde to sacrifice herself to save Connor, or leave the castle to get the mages and bring them back to avoid having Isolde sacrifice herself. I really didn't think it would make sense to leave the castle with Connor possesed by a demon since I figured that would be too much time. Therefore, I grudgingly allowed Isolde to sacrifice herself and then later saw in the codex that "the mages arrived just in time" which is what I was apparently supposed to do... I also lost 23 points with Alistaire. My question, is how much future play will be impacted if I don't resort to an earlier saved game and redo it. It is my first time playing through and I am taking my time so I am curious how much the "wrong" choice impacts future play. I'm not overly concerned about the 23 points lost on Alistaire.

I wouldn't worry, Alistair just over reacted. I always go for the mages since Redcliff is always my last stop before I leave for Denerim/Landsmeet. I've not tried the mage option without saving the Circle 1st, nor have I tried the mage option if I sided with the Templars, so I'm no help to you there. Obviously if you didn't save the Circle you'll get no help from them.

Not really an issue really other than a blurb during the epilogue.. Who cares about that brat and his racist mother anyway.

I usually go for the free talent point and allow the desire demon to come back down the road. I've got a blight to stop if you know what I mean.

atr my first playthrough, i choose to kill Isolde and chase the demon away from connor. then at my second playthrough i choose to get mages from the circle, and both of them got no big impact on the ending of the game :)
