Realistic Hardcore Playthrough Help/Feedback?

Hey guy & gals, my very first post on the forums!

I would like some help and suggestions if possible, hence why I put this is in the general discussion thread. If it needs moving I'll move it, but getting help isn't really the main issue so I guess it's in the correct place. So here's my little story & problem.

So I've been playing Skyrim a while and figured what the hell, I want to do a super realistic playthrough. So I wiped Skyrim from my computer deleted all my saves (nothing missed tbh) and started fresh. I installed a massive list of mods from Frostfall & Realistic N&D to Overhauls for just about everything in the game and everything set on Legendary Difficulty. Now the game runs really smooth, but now and again I'll go into areas and such and I'll get a CTD. Not a big issue, just a bit irritating (An example is when you leave Bleakfalls Barrow and run along the riverside, It just CTDs for no reason). Anyway I play a Hunter, hence all the immersion. I wanted to make it so I felt like an actual hunter roaming the wilds and such and I do, it's great! even installed a mod to allow me to tame beasts etc etc. Now here's where I was hoping you guys could help me out a little, Like I said, I've Overhauled everything with mods, but I'd like to add that little something extra. I want to start my own community ingame. A bit like how Whiterun was built around Jorrvaskar. Start a small hunting settlement where I can bring NPC's to setup shop in a store I've built for them. Is this possible at all? I've looked at a few mods, but not installed anything. I've got the mod for build my own home anywhere (it's what inspired the idea). Now I don't want to become a lord like the build your own City Mod, but something along the lines of the Guild starter mod, but without the Guild.

I know I'm going to get posts from people flaming and trolling, so I'll say something to you first to get it out of the way. This is a forum, forums are used by communities and I'm asking the community a question to get the benefit of there experience and hopefully share in some of the fun they've had. Anyway "Go Google it" is an ironic reply in this case as it was Google that led me here. That being said all replies are welcome & I look forward to them.

First of all, congrats for getting such a huge mod list to work without asking for help.

Sadly I can't think of anything matching your description right now. What functions would you like to have as the leader of your own community? Order them around? Then you might get a few followers and set their default home to be your self built house via My Home is your home. If you need more... sophisticated controls over your follower's demeanor, also get a follower overhaul. This might require starting from anew, though.

Hey notmyhome, thanks for the reply.

I have UFO and My home is your Home installed. I was hoping to make a small village of sorts, I suppose the best way to describe it would be a Bandit Camp, but instead of bandits maybe a small community of travellers who are settling down but don't want the hustle and bustle of city life. If this makes any sense at all. I have a makeshift way of doing it with Build your home anywhere mod and your suggested my home is your home mods. But was wondering if there was a more fine tuned mod that does this task.

I've played around using the CK, but I can't seem to do to much as I keep breaking things. Which is stupid on my part I might add. I'm attempting to learn, because I want to add a Modular Skyhaven Temple Renovation mod. Similar to the same way you upgrade the Breezehome by talking to Avenichi in Whiterun. But other then creating followers and Custom playable races, I've got 0 knowledge on the Ck. I'll look into it though, cheers.

For the CTD, try EnBoost, it cut may CTDs in half.

For your village, there are many mods out here to rule people and blah blah. Riverhelm and Jarl of iverstead is one of them. And a grow-ble telvanni Home (big inhabitable mushroom from the dragonborn dlc that I just dig.) that becomes a mini villages. I would also love a bandit house theme however.

EDIT: I re-read what you had typed and I missed some of the things you said lol I agree that building your own city for it would be dumb, and I forgot about the guild starter mod. That mod was great but it was really really simple and I don't recall seeing anything new about it ever pop up on the radar. Still, I hope you find something in what I posted!

ORIGINAL POST:

I know exactly what you mean mate! Gimme a second to google!

Okay, I know of a few that come to mind that, combined, may be what your looking for. The first I would recommend is

Tundra Defense Mod

Okay here me out on this one, I'm not linking you some bull. In it you can build up a small city, anywhere you want, and have all sorts of npcs and people move in to live there. YOU DON'T actually have to do the wave defense things that comes with it. You can activate if you want, but this could be perfect if you are wanting to build up a small little community out in the forest of the Rift or Falkreath. I used it for a long time, it's really fun and like I said before, you don't have to do the raid/wave stuff, all optional.

It just takes a bit to figure stuff out, would probably watch some youtube videos on it.

Google turned this one up before I could remember what the mod was named, so you could check it out also. But I think it makes a city where you'd have to enter a door (aka loading screen) so wouldn't be as cool.

A small village outpost I think would work better for what you are wanting to do.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mixed Unit Tactics

This mod practically lets you build a small army, without using up follower slots in things like AFT or UFO, or whatever you use.

It's pretty simplistic after watching a tutorial video and you could probably figure it out on your own. You could role play with this, making it so you can send fellow hunters out to guard areas or something, and you could pay them wages.

There are a lot of cool features on it, so really it's just up to you how you would use it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you don't want to do all the manual work, you could check this out

Hunting in Skyrim - Hunting Guild

Quick Breakdown Of Features In Version 1.3.6:

I've also used it before, and it adds some really cool things for you to do. You could combine this with the first one and make it so you can your hunters gather at the guild locations now and then. Make it like three guild locations and you guys are out on the frontier, the original OG hunters. (Yes I know I said original original gangster LOL)

Anyway those are my thoughts, hope you like them !!

Hey Dennis20014,

I dunno if I should be taking your post as sarcasm or not lol. However I seem to have completely overlooked the Tundra Defence Mod so thanks for pointing that out. I've already played the Hunting Guild Mod and It conflicts with another mod I have installed hence why I don't personally use it. The Mixed Tactics mods seems really interesting and I will give it a look, though I'm not entirely sure it's going to what I was aiming for. So all in all cheers dude.

Oh no I was being serious =]--- I just felt the need to post an edit cause I had read through your original post too fast, and felt the need to clarify I wasn't stupid I guess haha

I think the Tundra one would be excellent though for what you are aiming for. And yeah I think you're right about the mixed tactics.

Cheers!

Actually the Tundra Defence Mod has really brought my game forward I must admit so thanks for that Dennis. I'm currently reinstalling Skyrim so I can make a backup of Vanilla Skyrim. I'm going to use the CK to make a lot of the changes I wanted from the Hunters Mods I've installed as I can't install more then one for the features I wanted. Tundra Defence takes care of the building my own settlement and the other mod for building your own home anywhere is going to be used to build kind of "outposts" through out Skyrim.
