Hi everybody. Anybody want to venture a guess as to why this load order crashes on launch?:

WryeBash gives the following errors when building a bashed patch:
Missing Master Errors:
- ETaC Complete NSutR Patch
- Requiem- SoT - Skytest
Details about the crash:
Basically, the game launches, skips the intro logo (courtesy of Requiem), shows the Skyrim dragon logo on the start-up menu, then crashes to desktop before the menu itself loads.
Any ideas?

What if you uncheck the masters and associated mods that wrye bash says have master file errors?

Did you activate all those mods at once and then tried to start your game?

Did you change loadorder manually?

Always activate mods one at a time or in groups. It's pretty safe to activate 20 clothing or weapon mods at once provided you made sure when downloading you checked the requirements and downloaded those.

When it comes to companion mods, quest mods or mods that add animations, scripts or other gameplay mechanics and effects it's always best to activate them one by one after making sure you have a stable game. Even MO or NMM is never a gaurentee mods will automatically work.

With 200 mods it might mean you have to restart your game a couple of dozen times and start the game with a completely modless save each time.

It's virtually impossible to pinpoint the problem with a modlust that long. Best option is to deactivate mods one by one.

Starting point is the wrye bash message and any mods associated with the ones mentioned

Thanks for the reply! Of course I was a fool for not going through this more meticulously than I did. I deactivated mods 10 at a time and didn't find any workable solution, even though I did disable the conflicting mod. Going through them one after the other I found this:

1) It crashes when I enable "Requiem - SoT - Skytest." Presumably this is because I am missing SoT. But I need this patch to make Requiem work with Skytest Realistic Animals. Does that mean I have to install this SoT mod (whatever it is) to enforce compatibility with Requiem and Skytest?

2) Sometimes, a given load order wouldn't work. Then removing a couple of mods, launching, activating one of the mods, launching, and so on until all the mods were launched one by one made the game not crash. So a given load order would fail to work until I relaunched the game on every activation.

Anyway, it seems we have narrowed the problem down to one offender. However I need the Requiem/Skytest patch. The patch page on the Nexus makes the following claim:

"For the time being. I will package all of these patches together. I have also provided an esm'd esp version of Skytest that works with my patches. Choose which esps you need and delete the rest. Just use one each of the main files."

I'm honestly unsure how to interpret that, but the fact remains I can't find a version of that patch that excludes SoT?

Actually, if I'm deciphering the forums talk on the subject properly, the description for the patch is wrong. Am I correct in thinking that I will only need that patch if I'm running Requiem, SoT and SkyTEST at the same time?

Are you installing manually or using a mod manager. NMM or Mod otganizer?

I have no idea what SoT is. However about the description that comes with the patch.

Probably it is a pack of patches. When you activate it several patch esp's will be added to you plugin list.

See which ones are added and deactivate the ones you do not need to run Requim and Skytest.

So you might have 5 extra esp's after installation of which you need to set only one active.

Manual installation:

Unpack the rar and only copy that one esp to your data folder.

NMM or MO:

Unpack the rar delete all patches you do not need. Re-rar that one patch and add that archive via the imort option in NMM or MO.

Did you install that esm'd / esp'd version of Skytest the authot mentioned? Or the regular version? I dont use skytest myself so not familiar with it. I'm on my phone to so looking at the modpage is far from ideal to check it myself at this moment.

missed this one while typing, but that could very well be the case. I assumed you tried with the patch unchecked.

I'm installing via NMM. However I am now pretty sure that that patch is patch to make SoT (apparantly an encounter mod) AND SkyTEST work simultaneously with Requiem. So I'll leave it deactivated. I have the Helgen script bug as well, but I'll just use Alternate Start to get around it.

Thanks for all the help!

It is telling you what your problem is - a missing master will cause an immediate CTD on start

WryeBash gives the following errors when building a bashed patch:
Missing Master Errors:
- ETaC Complete NSutR Patch
- Requiem- SoT - Skytest

It cannot find the masters for those mods. I suggest using Tes5Edit to look at your mods.
