threaded view within topics

I've been searching around for this answer for a while, but I just can't find it. Is there a way to enable a threaded view within topics? Currently, within a topic you'll see posts like this:

------------------------------

In response to post #1235234

blah blah blah

-----------------------------

This is just a big, linear view of all posts within a topic. This makes it very difficult to follow a specific conversation within that topic. Surely there is a way to thread the view, much like if you click on the "Posts" button from within a mod's homepage. (?)

The two sides of the Nexus; the "Forums", and the "Files" (mods), were never designed (by the publishers of the software involved) to be integrated. The "threaded conversation" view on the Files-side is native to that functionality. The ability to see the Mod Comments in the Forums at all is the result of a lot of hard work by Dark0ne and his coding team.

I believe the fact that in the Forums you get the link(s) back to the previous message(s) to which a particular post was a reply is an example of that custom coding. The native I.P. Boards application doesn't even try to do that.

I kinda gathered that, Thandal, between those quirks and others (such as the different implementations of BBCode).

As for replying, zyxtomatic: I go to page 1 of the thread. The very first post, made by Site Bot, always has a link back to the mod. (Or, if it's a mod I've visited before, I'll type its name in my browser's address bar and let the address autocomplete.) Then I post my reply in the Posts tab there, so it gets threaded properly.

Current mod page addresses are of the format www.nexusmods.com/<gamename>/mods/<ID number>/; the old format of <gamename>.nexusmods.com/mods/<ID number>/ redirects to this. If the link is an even older one and doesn't work (the site has been reorganized a bit over the years), then copy the mod ID number from the link, open another mod page for the same game, and paste that ID number in the correct place.

EDIT: This works for screenshots, too. Same instructions as above, but replace mods in the address with images or supporterimages.
