When I was on a quest "Mage's treasure",I had got three parts of the "Juggernaut Plant",now the breastplate remains. I came to the Brecilian ruin temple where I found the fountain & the altar. But my problems appear: I lost the jug item after the quest"Elven ritual" completed .maybe I sold it to some NPC or even destroy it. The gate is still locked, I can't open it without using the jug. What next can I do to reget the jug or directly open the gate?

If you correctly finished the ritual, the jug breaks after putting the water back into the fountain. which is why you dont have it anymore....if you did the ritual right.

From the sounds of it, something is wrong. try going back to one of the autosaves, or an earlier savegame and do the ritual over again.
