Massive mod project "Fugitives to Hammerfell" will be underway soon!

Hello all! I would like to begin a massive project called "Fugatives to Hammerfell" soon, but I cannot undertake this on my own. I am interested in getting help from the most passionate and experienced modding communities, the Nexus! I am hoping to get help from many different areas, so if you are interested in helping please contact me here, on the nexus, or on the mod's new Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FromSyrimtoHammerfell/timeline) You can also find my email on the Facebook page.

I hope to accomplish many things with this mod. I would like to bring the player to Hammerfell, which I am planning on having fully voice acted, lore friendly, and diverse.

Even if you only have slight modding experience, that would be helpful. I am planning on getting a small group together to start drafting a story and characters within a week. After that the building of the land will occur. I will be releasing an estimated schedule in about a 2 weeks time.

Thank you for reading, and if you are interested, please contact me as soon as possible.

Seems like a great idea! I would love to help, but I'm very busy with my own massive project. Maybe I'll join on after I finish Vortex of Time. Oh, and you should provide a basic plot overview/ outline, if you want to attract more recruits for "Fugitives to Hammerfell". Really helps if people know what they'll be working on.

I only hatched the idea yesterday, so the idea is only a rough outline right now. I've already started working on a more in depth story, and will be making frequent posts here, on Facebook, and other sites with my progress. I just wanted to start getting the name in the back of peoples heads. :)

You may also say how you'll help with the project. Otherwise people may think you'll just be writing the story and having modders do all the hard work.

I suppose being Benevolent Dictator For Life of a Hammerfell modding project is a hard work as well.

Now, seriously, how massive do you plan your endavour? Compared to, say, these guys?

Why not some small, exotic, adventure quest mod on the border of Hammerfell and High Rock?

"I only hatched the idea yesterday"

That's easily biggest reason I sort-of dislike this already.

I don't want to be too harsh.

Idea of getting into Hammerfell would be amazing, but the way how you are starting this project is not too promising.

Your skills? Apart from throwing ideas?

Lore expert? Concept artist?

Have you done anything to prove the future team that it's wort it to keep you in this team?

I do not mean to be discouraging, but there are me many mods out there "oh I just thought of this, wouldn't it be cool?" That never get finished. Plus it's good to add something to the team more than ideas. Which is why I asked the roles of your teammates. Are they any good at scripting/level design/etc.?

Also on that note, if you are project manager you should endeavor to learn as much as you can about each aspect of the creation of your mod

Not to float my own boat but before I started discworld I did amatuer scripting(I still do but I make it look flashier) barely any dungeon design and 0 3d modeling and/or nif work

Upon taking on this project I did the worlds most stupid crash course in scripting with a actual programmer, I have since learned how to mess with nifs to the point of 'they are my b&@*$' (With the exception of skinned crap, havent had the need yet) 3d modeling and texturing and uvw maps, world design, dungeon design, understanding how my music team is putting crap together even if I am unable to artistically do it myself. As well as quest design writing and all sorts of voice acting troubleshooting to help almost anyone who wants to VA for me. And hell there is crap I'm probably missing on this list

That has been over the last 8 months 2 days

So hurrah for your idea, but doing some of this is massive and insane, hammerfell is roughly 30% larger I believe than Discworld and I have been doing it practically as a full time job for those 8 months, with tons of people contributing etc but no one else really working on it full time.

These types of posts actually irk me somewhat, mostly due to how lax the description is etc, any 'talent' you manage to acquire off of that post is either insane or 'not' very talented.

I didn't even post up for discworld till I was weeks in and had a worldspace and a few outlines of towns and a general mapheight setup. Come back when you have that and maybe me and other modders might take this more seriously.

At the moment you have a total of 3 posts, and 0 mods to showcase your as of yet untold talents

My advice is start smaller, try to do even one single quest mod at least

We don't necessarily mean to be discouraging, but if you want to create a high quality mod, then you want to make sure you have at least some experience in a field of modding. If you don't, then you'll want to get some experience, following the tutorials on the CK Wiki, and working on small ideas.
