I'm glad you appreciated my effort at making Dark Souls 2 more refined! Believe me, comments like yours can make my day.
And yes, it would be possible for me to make character retextures. However, no character textures stand out to me as being especially ugly. There are a few mods like that which already exist, such as a replacement for the Fume Knight and the Emerald Herald. One of the reasons why I haven't done anything like that is because character textures can be quite high resolution and cause the game to stutter as they load. Character textures are also harder to change considering how they're mapped to a complex model instead of relatively simple geometry.
Still, I might end up dabbling with that eventually. Even before you requested that, I earlier considered trying to make a texture replacement for the Dragonriders inspired by the " Darknut " enemies from the Zelda series, or a texture replacement for the Coal Tars in the Black Gulch inspired by the " DomZ " aliens from Beyond Good and Evil. Still, those would more be simply changing them instead of outright improving them.
I don't promise anything, but I have been thinking about it for some time now. I may just try it one day and see how it goes.

hi again bro, i was thinnking, since i keep redownloading your mod everytime you update it ( done just now) and i keep overvrything the files using the quici installation folder, do you put up to date files averytime in the quici installation folder too? or only in the custum one in the proper area sections? just to know if i'm doing nothing by just overwrithing the files in the same folder with avery new version, i downloaded thi so many time that at this point i lost track of all the differences XD. thank yuo

Yep, I always make sure the recommended and most up to date files are included in the Quick Installation section. Good question, though. I'll update the main description to clarify this. Thanks.

Hey, i see you did good job with this textures, so i have a request. I dont know why but something is broken in this game with textures LOD. I gave you two pictures that shows what im saying, but you need to see it in full size since in this miniatures you wont be able to see what i mean. If you could maybe fix it, that would be great. The problem seems to occur when i walk far away from this rocks. Here:

And here:

Maybe just need to change some values in game files that will fix it, or just edit textures.

Yes, I've personally noticed of a lot of LOD issues throughout the game in almost too many places to keep track of. I would love to be able to fix this, but the reason why I haven't is due to the LOD files naturally accepting a lower resolution than regular textures. I may test out some things to see if I can find a workaround, but it's sadly not as simple as changing a value or two in some code, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

I disagree with your statement that fromsoftware did a "Lazy" job at texturing.
First off dark souls 2 needs to run on inferior console hardware. So high-res textures are out of the question.
Second dark souls is one of the most immersive games i have ever played in my life with the best lore-faithful textures i have ever seen.
And third, your textures stick out like a sore thumb.

I am perfectly fine with constructive criticism, but if my textures stand out like a sore thumb at least let me know what is particularly wrong with them so I can improve. Of course, I'm not a great texture artist and I don't pretend to be, but I do honestly think that the simple textures I made are preferable to the tiling textures. If you don't know what I am talking about, look at the screenshots. And if you don't like a particular texture, just install the ones you want and leave the ones you don't like under the Custom Installation folder.
I love Dark Souls 2 a whole lot, which is why I made a mod for it in the first place. Yes, I am well aware Dark Souls 2 was designed for previous-gen hardware so numerous flaws with the game are forgivable, and in most ways the game is extremely gorgeous, especially with a lighting mod such as GEM. My goal isn't to create high res textures as the textures I made are the exact same resolution as before. I simply am trying to remove the visible tiling on the environment. FromSoftware didn't necessarily do a bad job with the textures themselves, they just did could have applied them to the environmental geometry better. They weren't lazy with all the textures, but in some places development seemed to have been rushed.
Also, if you don't like my mod and would rather play without my textures, by all means don't install it. I simply created it for the people who don't like the tiling textures in the game.
