Does Alistair have to be hardened?

I just tried it and he left anyway.

So, how do I do it?

Do you have to execute Loghain to do it?

Yeah, he has to be hardened, and you have to have arranged the marriage between him and anora between the two of them before going to the landsmeet. It may require him to be at 100% approval too, not sure on that one.
He's gonna leave the party, no matter what, if loghain lives. Also, along those similar lines... anora will not marry him, if you chose to have Alistair lop off loghain's head.

LOL yes my guy made that mistake when he was going to have Alistair and Anora marry, I was like "NOOOOOO!" when he did it ... but my guy seems to enjoy ruining Alistair's life in every playthrough he does ... and he vocally says it's b/c I like him so much :O For shame doing it for spite against me :O lulz! ... we enjoy smack talking and messing with each other when we game, makes it more fun and we are both so competitive! ... and I ramble again ...

Just did it, worked like a charm...

Off topic but I loved how my shapeshifter just morphed into a Baernarn and mauled Loghain to surrender in one shot...I love overwhelm.

IF I get back into the game again anytime soon, I think I may have to try the sequence of letting Loghain live. Maybe it will spare me that rant that Al throws after the landsmeet is over.
I mean, I cant blame him, as he has a right to be pissed off about somebody else making these huge lifechanging decisions for him, especially when it's something he's said over and over and over that he doenst wanna do it.

But still, I dont like being yelled at, so I may try it.
