I am going to attempt to explain what this little plugin does and doesn't do in more detail.

First of all, I think it's important to understand NPCs sandboxing in Skyrim a little more.

The basic idea of sandboxing is that most NPCs don't roam around aimlessly, they usually has picked out something to interact with and therefore moves there. For example, "Oh, I want to use that wood chopping block, so I am going to move over there, and later, I also want to sit in that chair over there". Which results in the seemingly natural A.I. of NPCs moving about daily activities.

But how do NPCs know what they can and cannot do during sandboxing?

NPCs are told by sets of rules to freely interact with objects in a given location. These sets of rules are known as sandbox packages, and one important parameter of these sandbox packages is the sandboxing radius.

Sandboxing radius defines how far around the given location a NPC can roam freely about in 3d directions in a spherical shape. Now, Skyrim, by default, cuts off the top and bottom of this shape off, so that the NPCs are staying mostly around the same level as the location of the sandbox package has defined.

So, what does Multiple Floor Sandboxing do?

Multiple Floor Sandboxing only changes 2 global game setting variables, so that the game won't cut off too much of the top and bottom of the sandbox radius out, thus allowing NPCs to move up- or downstairs more frequently.

What Multiple Floor Sandboxing not do is that it does NOT modifies NPCs' sandbox packages.

If a sandbox package has a radius larger than 576, Multiple Floor Sandboxing reduces the restriction in the vertical direction, allowing the NPCs to interact with more markers above or below that they normally won't see because of the vanilla truncation.

However, if a sandbox package has a radius less than 576 (512 is a common sandboxing radius), Multiple Floor Sandboxing completely lifts the restriction in the vertical direction, but NPCs are still not allow to travel further up or below beyond their sandboxing radius.

Hopefully, this clears up some of the thoughts about this little plugin. And I hope some of you will find this interesting and helpful in enhancing your gaming experience.

Happy gaming!
