Mods to increase FPS

Hey there, I'm playing skyrim on a PC that's not too high end but also not too cheap. I wanna play it on the highest graphics settings I can without lag.

What are some mods that decrease lag/increase fps?

Also mods that stop game from crashing/freezing would be appreciated

Increase Fps: HiAlgoBoost, Skyrim Project Optimization, ColofulLightsNoShadows(has to do with shadows)- this is all the mods i know that give fps without changing the graphics.

Crashing/freezing: don't know any but as long as you have high fps the higher the chance that you won't crash/freeze.

I think some of us can help but we do not have enough info to assist (say...knowing your PC spec is a good start). You mentioned you want to max out FPS, and decrease lag...both could be different matters altogether.

Factors affecting FPS: GPU performance, CPU performance (dual? Quad?), main RAM, Video RAM (really really important...and high resolution textures can kill your FPS if you run out of VRAM), the kind of mod installed (and not installed)

Factors causing "laggy" gameplay: your storage device (HDD is much slower than SSD), the kind / amount of mods installed...are they script intensive?

To answer your questions...some mods can help:

SSME or SKSE (v 1.7.1 with memory allocation option enable) can help with managing your system RAM...should reduce stutter and solve infinite load screen.

Search for "optimiz" using Nexus search can get your a few mods to optimized your texture folder and / or BSA archive

Search for "Skyrim Performance monitor"...a mod can help you figure out how close you are running out of system resource

Have fun with your game.

P.S. Oh...unless you have settled with a stable setup with acceptable FPS...do not bother with those miracle skyrim.ini and skyrimpref.ini mods for now.

I'd also recommend getting the vanilla ENB from enbdev. You can use all the improvement uses it gives to running skyrim without the decreasing performance effects from enb presets.

That coupled with SSME or SKSE 1.7.1 will help your game big time.

But yeah without specs we don't really know what to suggest.

Shadows on High or Medium, and Textures on Medium are going to be the biggest performance impacts. I have radial blur off as well as it gives some performance drops for really a dumb effect lol that's my opinion.
