Hi folks,

Not sure if any of you folks have experienced this prob, hope you may be able to help me out.

I've just got Morrowind, and have installed the latest english patch.

When starting a new game I can get past the ship to the first building, but
when the program loads up the building interior it just crashes, CTD.

I've tried turning off shadows, using software acceleration with sound.

I have a pentium III 800 Mghz, Creative Geforce2 GTS video card,
Creative Live! Platnum 5.1 soundcard and win 98 SE.

Anyone else had similar probs? Any possible solutions?

All/any help appreciated.

Was really impressed by the first 'scene' on the ship (some jerky sound playback on my machine) - keen to get into it!

argh, my friend had the same problem, she tried the tweaking guide but just got fed up and never touched the game again.

wots ur RAM? that seems 2 play the biggest role in how the game runs. i suggest a minimum of 256

also u cud try downloading the latest sound/video drivers if u havent already, updating 2 the latest version of directx and so forth.

if that doesnt work then im not sure...

I had the same problem. After a while, though, it just froze. but when it did that, I opened Race menu and everything was hunky-dory.

Hi folks, thanks for replying.

Thought I'd let you all know - I;ve got it working. All I needed was the latest creative driver for the Creative GeForce2 GTS graphics card.

I havent updated it in ages so it was a learning curve.

If any of ou folks have a similar hardware setup, you may want to give this a go

1A. Ensure you have the latest game patch installed

1. Download the latest graphics driver for your card

2. Install it by going through settings, control panel, settings tab, advanced, adapter and then the change button. (this is a win 98 SE example)

3. Click on next and choose the location where you downloaded the latest drivers
(note this is for Win 98 SE) see windows help if you get stuck or for more info on how to update drivers.

It works a treat for me now, what an awesome game.
Also I'm no longer having ANY crashes! (Touch wood and whistle)

Over the last two days of constant playing its been VERY stable - heres hoping it stays that way!

Happy Adventuring!
