Normally i look at graphic mods this way.....Really big mods first, then let the little guys have their textures. It can also depend on what you want from each texture pack.

Your order looked good to me.

MO can really help you with this....Right click a mod : -> Information -> then you can look at the Conflicts tab. it shows what that mod is overwriting (mods before it) and what mods are overwriting files from that mod (mods loaded after).

IT even can show you if a mod is completely overwritten...move a small texture mod above a huge texture mod. MO will change icons showing you the mod is useless...lol

I am about 75% of the way through this... I hope it's worth it... I'll probably need to start a new game right?

It says the "item mod organizer.exe has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly... My recycling bin is full of META files whatever those are... SOMEBODY PLEASE SAY YOU KNOW HOW TO HELP

Can you give more information on what exactly happened and what were you doing at that time? Did MO crash? Are the MO foulders gone from your computer?

Okay so I'm really not tech-savvy but I could probably give you a couple POSSIBLE ideas as to why that happened again...

My most likely reason is that when I extract mod organizer from the zip file, I just run the modorganizer.exe within the zip file. I don't believe I extracted it anywhere. So when it wants to run, I think it says it places itself in C/Users/Me/AppData/Local/Temp

Could it be that it's placing itself in a temp folder then deleting itself after a few days?

LOOT actually was "changed or moved" when I tried to open it now too. Both did this, and MO has done it twice.

With this said, I am also not extracting any of the other files anywhere. These include python.zip, hook.dll, proxy.dll, etc. I guess I probably wasn't following instructions. But I'm deathly afraid to use all my precious free time again just to be screwed over.

This said, I have 2 other ideas if that's not it.

One, it may be because Nexus Mod Manager is downloaded and open even if it wasn't doing anything.

Another reason may be all my desperate attempts to install community uncapper. I modified the ini file and copied it to many folders since there were so many "data," and skse folders in my skyrim folder. :/

I'm not sure I understood you properly, but if you put MO and all the mods inside a temporary foulder, that's the most likely reason everything got deleted after some time. You might wish to check some MO guides (not sure they are up to date, but they could still be useful): http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/31499/? and http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/53790/?

I have now downloaded MO and LOOT into my Skyrim data folder. I properly used installers this time.

Would a temp folder delete only after a few days?

I'm now foolishly downloading about 50 mods with fingers crossed.

I would place MO and LOOT in some other folder, so not to clutter your skyrim data one (they can be placed pretty much anywhere).

That depends on your setting. However, it's not recommended to keep files you need in temporary foulders.

You might wish to check you temp foulder if maybe not everything was deleted yet.

Okay soooo I tried moving LOOT and MO out of the data folder and then nothing was there. That made me feel loss again lol. Luckily I moved it back and everything was there... Are there repercussions to having stuff in the data folder? Also should I delete my old save games completely? I know i could still load them. I'm awhile away from playing but I just want to know... I don't have high hopes it won't delete itself again. I can't believe I'm even trying lol

Should I delete my old saves? I don't want everything to get screwed again...
