I am on the DB quest to assisinate the dark elf from the beginning of the game but when I get to the sanctum there are 5 guards waiting for me, need a little help with this.

Chameleon is your friend. Get the ring of Khajiit from the Daedric quest (can't remember which) and enchant items you find - the guy in the Sanctum sells the spell. Or get your sneak very high and sneak past. With sneak at 100 you can virtually stand under someone's nose and they won't see you.

Also if you wait the guards will disperse I think.

I just went into the room where you left the sanctum and the guards shouted "There he is" and killed me.

I don't know how to help you, except recommend sneaking. I was able to sneak past without being an actual Stealth-based character. The Shrouded Armor gear helps in that regard. Keep your distance and wait until their backs are turned. If you're rank with Sneak is low, move slowly. Hide in shadow.

Or, simply forfeit the bonus and take them all down.


I myself had a big problem with this quest, right at the very end. The guard who talks with the prisoner never moved once they stopped talking. The guard just stood there, staring at the guy the whole time.
