More testing, installed with just the Learned Forms, Combat Tweaks, and this mod, along with the appropriate compatibility files supplied. Damage from the Hideous Blow is once again missing, or I'm just having really bad luck with it landing, around 100 normal hits without the secondary damage showing. Eldritch Blast is working normally, after reading a little more I found it does seem to be based on attack rating.

Update: The culprit was Combat Tweaks. It seems some of the compatibility files need to be extracted to a sub folder in the override folder. All of the files below may not be needed but I added them incase of other compatibilities later along with keeping a copy of all the files in the main override folder.

The following needs to be added to denl_combattweaks:
ability_core.ncs
rules_core.ncs
spell_aoe_duration.ncs
spell_aoe_instant.ncs
spell_blizzard.ncs
spell_chainlightning.ncs
spell_cone.ncs
spell_drainlife.ncs
spell_modal.ncs
spell_shapeshift.ncs
spell_singletarget.ncs
spell_stingingswarm.ncs
talent_aoe_instant.ncs

For some reason, the 'ip_restrict_omage_warlock.ncs' file prevents Mages from equipping Mage-only headgear.

Deleting this file from the Override folder resolves the error, but that would presumably mean that Warlocks can't use Mage equipment in exchange, according to the source.

Well, since I'm not starting a new game, it's no biggie for me, but it's still a bug of sorts.

ALSO: Override folder hierarchies, for those not in the know.

Higher priority is given to those files in sub-folders (so anything in 'Override' is effectively, well, overriden, by any identically named files in 'Override\DenL_CombatTweaks, for instance) AND file/folder priority is processed in ascending order (folders starting with 'Z' take precedence over those starting with 'A', for instance).

So, for Combat Tweaks, a user would either have to overwrite the files currently in 'Override\DenL_CombatTweaks' (not recommended), create a sub-folder within 'Override\DenL_CombatTweaks' (say, 'Override\DenL_CombatTweaks\Compatibility Patches') and extract the scripts into that new folder, or create another folder within 'Override', but one with higher priority (say, 'Override\X - DenL_CombatTweaks').

Sounds nuts, I know, but I've done quite a bit of my own testing on this front. It's the case on my PCs for sure, as well as those of a few friends of mine.

Little bit complicated at first, but done correctly (and with a bit of patience and practice), can work quite well.

I am loving this mod so much. There's no reason why Bioware couldn't have made more classes, seriously. The only thing keeping it from being perfect for me is that it doesn't work with tactics. The rest of the party never uses them when I assign them to tactics, which is kinda sad as I wanna make the most of this mod. I'm using advanced tactics and CT if that matters.

I'm very pleased to know that only the .utc files are required. That prevents a large potential compatibility issue.

Although... re-looking at the archives... it seems I completely missed adding them to it the first time around. Which certainly explains why it wasn't working.

--------------------------

@NeoSeether:

I'll have to play around with those restrict scripts some more it seems.

As for the override issue... yeah, the game is ridiculous in that respect (NWN2 was the same). Which is why I keep telling people not to use any Mod-specific sub-folders in their override folder, as it makes finding and fixing compatibility issues far too time-consuming.

---------------------------

Looks like its time to write up the descriptions for the Warlock abilities.

They work similar to NWN2's Warlock abilities. So yes, Eldritch Blast requires a Touch Attack to hit (which is based on your attack rating).

I found a small glitch. I selected the warlock class and chose quick play,then the warlock started with a two-handed weapon talent and probably a passive warrior talent since there was no other talent but hideous blow.

Version 1.51

- Uninstall previous version before installing this one, especially any files installed to the packages/core Override folder
- Class-restricted items now working correctly (I had confused ip_restrict_omag and ip_restrict_mag)
- Various Warlock abilities updated to avoid potential issues
- Warlock abilities now described in the Description and included Spells/Talents Readme.

----------------------------

@dancing_bush69:

Tactics are tricky. I have no idea why they would not be working if they were specifically set on the Tactics screen.

For example: If Enemy Health < 50 cast Eldrich Blast.

I may take a look at the base tactics scripts later on though.

-------------------------

@kronaras:

That's a semi-known issue that should be fixed once I properly update the ALWarlock_default.gda file.

----------------------

@zukamo:

Fixed.

Also, make sure to delete the ip_restrict_war.ncs and ip_restrict_rog.ncs files the old version installed to your override folder.

That's all I needed to hear. Thank you. Its enough to know you'll look into it. The sustained abilities don't activate at all. I'm not aure about the base ones though. :)
