Thank you for the reply! I know all of this is confusing; modding is probably the hardest thing to do when it comes to games. If you look in the User Images on the first page, you'll see a few pictures of a brown/red wolven anthro, being shown from multiple sides. I have the same bug that the image has~ Thank you for your time~

Don't mention it. I'm here for support on Tiffa's behalf, since I was helping her with some of the mesh work here. Investing my time into answering questions and helping solve installation issues in here is a given, as far as I'm concerned.
That's what I was trying to tell you, the images you're referring to don't show any 'bugs' per se. It's a rather extreme color hue selected in the FaceGen sliders during race creation, giving the fur patches a very distinct color from the rest of the body and making them appear almost opaque, but you can still see every single strand of hair, so the texture and the transparent sections of it are still working fine actually. Tone down the color hue a little and they will blend in better again. (I said Oblivion is horrible with transparency effects.)
It was my first attempt trying to put an effect of real fur on bodies, and I only achieved rather 'satisfactory' results in the end, nothing great. With some settings it's looking fine, with others... not so much, but I couldn't get it any better back then.
(I'm only a scripter, not a modeler, I'm just creating meshes and textures myself as a hobby when I need them, and Tiffa's the only artist here.)
For what it's worth, I found my MediaFire links to the fur-less replacement packages though. Sadly it appears it's only for Robert's Male V5 Average so far, no females or other body types yet, and to top it off the distribution structure used seems to be a little patchwork-messy as well.
Don't know what I was thinking those 3 years ago, but I guess when creating this "quick'n'dirty" solution back then I happened to put too much emphasis on "dirty" somehow. My bad.
If it's still a viable option for you though, getting rid of the fur patches entirely as they're way too displeasing looking, I can talk you through the process step-by-step, if need be. Installing mods in Oblivion is like second nature to me. And if Robert's Male V5 Average isn't your body of choice, I could even walk you through removing the fur patches yourself from your individual Wolven bodyparts' NIF files with only using NifSkope, if you feel like it.

That's weird. I just logged out and tried the link myself and I'm presented the 3 archives for download.
I did notice, however, there was a relatively long loading action while first the folder remained empty. The circle kept spinning and spinning and only then the files appeared one after the other. It seems MediaFire loads the contents asynchronously, not right on opening the page, and if for some reason the scripts for doing this fail (script blockers, anti malware tools, wrong browsers, etc.), the linked folder will most likely remain empty.
But if I'm able to see the files while not logged in, you should be, too. I used the 'share this folder' option provided by MediaFire to obtain the link, and it 'seems' to work for everybody else so far. Did you try it in a different browser already by chance?
If it makes any difference, here's the 3 files linked individually:
v5average.7z (wolf feet and upperbody for V5 Average)
v5average_nofur.7z (fur-less upperbody for V5 Average)
v5averagelowerbodies_nofur.7z (different fur-less lowerbodies for V5 Average)
(Don't ask me what I was thinking when I distributed them in these strange combinations. Obviously I wasn't thinking at all! But they are to replace the according files with the same names inside the "meshes/characters/CanisLupis" folder, if I'm not mistaken. Well, apart from the lowerbodies that is. These are named the same way Robert named his, to indicate which underwear option they contain, and the option of your choice needs to be renamed accordingly to replace the one lowerbody file this mod uses.)

Sadly I can't help much with the scripting by Lithian used for the turning part. I know its basic workings, the player spawns the wolf, mounts it, and becomes invisible, you navigate around like when riding a horse, and you unmount the usual way just as you do horses, turn visible again and the wolf de-spawns, but that's about all I know about it already.
I'm not sure which part of the process makes you CTD now, unless you CTD as well when un-mounting any other horse? It shouldn't be the invisibility part, but you never know for sure with Oblivion. I'm hesitant to believe it's the de-spawning, as spawning's far more likely to cause crashes yet it doesn't, but like I said, with Oblivion you never know.
Are you already using the famous helpers like the Oblivion Crash Prevention System (OCPS) or similar means? Oblivion's very prone to CTD'ing out of nowhere, and any means to prevent these can help already.

Is the wolf head still coming? It's been 3 years since v5 beta was released...

It's indeed been 3 years since most of my free time went missing, and I haven't seen it back since.
I even lost track of how far I got with finishing up the wolf head for release back then.
Lately I was able to make really minimal progress with some of my own projects though, so maybe I will also be able to give this one another try again in the near, or not so near, future. Tiffa's back from hiatus as well, at least over at deviantArt, I'm just not so sure she'll be interested in releasing what I send her then still.
We'll see... I could as well just link to the resource here in the comments then, like I did with the fur-less V5 beta assets I created. But first I need to find enough time to give it another look though! Work's tough, my schedule's rather busy, and I'm not really getting around to do much lately. No promises.

So, by reading the description of V4, I assume one has to download V3, then download V4(overwriting when asked), then download V5(overwriting when asked)?
