I thought I would provide a quick update on the previously reported forum situation before heading out.
In the late hours of Sunday night a Ukranian group managed to inject some malicious code in to the forum code using an exploit of the forum software. On Monday morning I attempted to resolve the issue by taking the forums offline and upgrading them to the latest version. Upgrading the forums also removes all the skins and customisations (such as kudos and the new AP system).
Today I have re-applied the old forum skin that has been updated for the forum upgrade. I will not be re-applying any of the old customisations to the site until I can be sure that the hackers have been stopped in their tracks and the security hole has been plugged.
At the time of writing the forums are perfectly safe and I have good reason to believe they shall remain so for the foreseeable future.
This whole problem comes during a busy week for me; graduation week at my old university where many of my friends are graduating and celebrating. Similarly my sister is back from China with her husband and 1-year old child and it's been over a year since I've seen her, so I'm currently in demand!
Things will be back to normal soon.

Good to hear. I suppose this might have had something to do with Sunday's incredibly slugglish loading.
By the way, the servers were displaying unusually high amounts of users for the entire night (or are there always near 30k people downloading at any one time at night?). :o
Ran all my anti virus and and rebuilt my mbr anyway, even though I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
Thanks for letting us know.

It's just good to know that the forums are safe! Hopefully, there isn't much damage done as the problem was addressed quickly. The forum repair progress is quite a feat as well. It would put some company backed forums to shame. Keep up the excellent work! Kudos to you, O, Dark0ne!

Good that the forum is clean once again. I hope, though, that a choice of skins will become available eventually; the current default one (grey text on a darker grey background) gives me eyestrain, and is laggy for some reason.

Good to hear, Dark0ne!
I must say that the repair went really fast, and the forum seems to be working (It's missing some stuff like images, but we can live without that now)
So kudos to you, Dark0ne! ...Oh wait, you already got my kudo...^^
And focus on your real life now, we can handle ourselves for the time being
edit: Igs7, I doubt any files were damaged, as they are on a server of their own, so I don't think the hackers got hold of anything from there.

Thanks Dark0ne for the info. I was having horrifying flashbacks of the Official Forums when they updated their forums as i noticed the same lag on The Nexus where it takes a minute just to scroll down one page.
Thanks for dealing with this on your extremely busy schedule and enjoy the family gathering.
