Any Tips on How I Can Make the Whiterun "Tundra Zone" Look Less Ugly?

It looks pretty ugly seeing grass and trees fade in from a distance in the areas where you can see a great distance, what options do I have to make this more immersive? I don't know the limits of the draw distance for grass or trees, or what effect it would have on FPS. And my other idea is to make it to where my character can't see as far, but I'm not sure what options in the INI handles that or how it would look. It would be great if these areas were simply less barren.

1. You can edit this parameter in the "grass" section of your skyrimprefs.ini:

fGrassStartFadeDistance=7.000 (this is the setting when choosing ultra in the game's menu)

Change this value to 14.000

The result will be like this:

2. You can use LOD mods like "The Skyrim Distance Overhaul LOD Improvement": http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19446/?

The result will look like this:

with SDO

Anyway the best result would be by increasing the uGrids but I strictly don't recommend to experiment with this arcane technique!
