chanchan05
There is no such thing as "best" mods or ENB. It's all preference. For example, some people want skimpy armor and uber powered characters. So the best mods for them are those that give that. Me on the other hand are more of immersion and difficulty mods. ENB is preference as well, as in Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don't use one. What kind of set of mods would you like anyway? BlackRoseOfThorns
It all depends on your machine capabilities, any high end enb with all effects enabled will cut your fps by 50-70%. So with moded Skyrim and high quality enb old pc might get 3fps. It would help if you have posted your computer specs. The entry level for RealVision enb is gtx 650ti + i7 3ghz cpu (quad core) + 8gb of Ram. RealVision is nice for recording, but I don't like it for gameplay. It sharpens the image too much and some skyrim objects looks too fake/plastic for my taste. There is lots of players that love RealVision, so might want to give it a try. My personal choice is The Grim and Somber Enb - Vaermina preset. It's a mix between high quality and performance preset without loosing much on ascetics. I ran it together with SweetFX, ELE-RS Light.esp (optional files on mod page) and ELFX core files. You can view authors screenshot albums here (select ENB: GS Vaermina):https://www.flickr.com/photos/wolfgrimdark/sets/ Lower mid range pc enb suggestion: Currently I'm using SweetFX + ELE (RS Light Color.esp) + ELFX (Core files only) alongside enb preset. You might not want full enb preset, but you should consider one that makes only slight changes to colors like RedShift: http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/55134-5-1403381883.jpg http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/55134-5-1403561613.jpg http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/55134-1-1403381683.jpg http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/55134-3-1403381773.jpg Or CoT + ELFX version - Shift ENB - Performance: http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/57935-2-1410130628.jpg http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/57935-4-1410130629.jpg PS: Use Quality Snow HD 4K by Yuril Dark Version (1k or 2k). http://i.imgur.com/HNrgdkB.jpg PPS: Tamriel Reloaded vanilla grass textures replacer (no .esp) + Unique Grasses and Groundcovers gives the most natural flora look. I would pick it over SFO any day and it has much less impact on performance. On top of it I use Grass on Steroids (Goldilocks Edition - Vanilla) with .ini grass size 45 / 55. http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/42370-1-1385694521.jpg http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/42370-5-1385694522.jpg http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/46925-5-1384477153.jpg(There should be dark and light color option. I just don't remember in which file it was placed.)
BlackRoseOfThorns
From other thread: I would recommend some light enb preset like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2RXhCz6ybw (You can always easily remove files from your skyrim folder without problems, if you decide to uninstall one preset and try another.) For simplicity I would go with Tamriel Reloaded visual overhaul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrqmslOBbL8 Tamriel Reloaded Textures and ParallaxTamriel Reloaded InterriorsTamriel Reloaded FloraTamriel Reloaded Mountains Pure Waters http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/1111-1-1392339057.jpg Vivid Landscapes - Dungeons and Ruinshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVv8PGYHn_s aMidianBorn Book of Silence(compilation of great armor sets and monsters retextures by Cabal120) http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/24909-1-1379956346.jpg XCE - Xenius Character Enhancement-Basic character looks improvements like more detailed body, higher res warpaints and makeup. Can be overrided and used toget with mods like:Better Males (Turn off adult content filter to view this -> nude pictures, you can install never nude version)UNP (female body) + SG Female Texture Reneval (skin textures)Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD texturesBeardsBrows or True BrowsCovereyes or True EyesCoverkhajiitsFAR - Forgotten Argonian Roots http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/35267-1-1376942235.png(UNP + SG textures + hair mod + clothes conversion) RaceMenu(More sliders and options for character creation screen. Can be accessed any time by oppening command console (¬ key) and typing showracemenu (press enter)) http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/29624-1-1358116347.jpghttp://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/29624-1-1408632540.jpg Cutting Room Floor (restored unfinished quests by Bethesda) INIGO (voiced khajiit follower)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMNN_WGcvFQ Combat Evolved+Ultimate Combat(more compatible and lightweight combination then SkyRe)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5WM8ejvC8g There is a lot more unique mods enhancing gameplay, however you should restrict yourself to what you really would want to change ingame. Each mod eats at your cpu and with old skyrim engine you can see your game hitting responsiveness wall. If you have any requests I can try to point you to mods that changes certain aspects. BlackRoseOfThorns
Some tips for first time user: Your welcome  In case you're installing Enb for the first time, you can find new and old enb binary files here:http://www.enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.htmhttp://forum.skyrimtuner.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=99 Different enb's need different base files version (only d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe from Wrapper folder). Get recommended version by "nexus enb preset author" (in case of Zoner's Enb it will be either v0.117 or v0.119) and put those two files in Skyrim folder (not Data). Then download preset and copy files (enbseries.ini, etc) to Skyrim folder.Use 7zip or other program to open compressed and packed files (.rar, .zip). Skyrim always uses files that were loaded last, so if you have same file packed (for examample new iron armor look and stats) into two or more .esp the latest in load order will override everything else. Lets say you downloaded riften texture overhaul in .esp and then added mara statue .esp. Your Riften will look the same, only Mara statue will change it's mesh and texture. Now if you add loose file texture (not packed into .esp or .bsa) it will always load last, no matter what. So if you drop Mara statue texture into Data/Textures/etc you will end up with new texture for statue mesh from .esp (as long .esp didn't alter texture file path and kept vanilla one). I strongly recommend using ~ModOrganizer + LOOT + TES5Edit instead of NMM. MO uses it's own file structure allowing you to create different mod list profiles without reinstalling anything. The biggest advantage of it is that you can plug LOOT into it (auto organizes your load order list to avoid any unecessary issues). TES5Edit is for cleaning skyrim master files and mods from dirty edits, which may cause problems for mods depending on them.Download links are in vid desription. What works for me is: MO v1_2_14 installer + LOOT v7 aplha 4 + TES5Edit 3_0_32.

BlackRoseOfThorns
Grim and Somber Data Files from Optional FilesEnhanced Lights and FX from nexus (Select only core files when installing. It will change only lightsources in interriors.) The only thing that bothered me with GS Enb was short daylight period. It was geting dark too early (after 5-6pm) making colors turn greyish (It was called the Grim and Somber after all  ).This is my tweaked set up that solves all my issues with the preset: ELE by Jawz for use with Grim and Somber Presets (Optional file in Miscellaneous Section on GS Enb page)I have installed only ELE RS Light.esp. Longer Days from Steam Workshop. Had to set ingame enb Day time to: Sunrise - 6:00, Sunset 21:00, Dusk/Dawn - 1.50. Now I'm enjoying scenic weathers till 10pm :D
