Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I'm having trouble trying to get MGE to work for Morrowind, I'm hoping some of you can help me.

I'll start by showing some information:

-windows xp home
-all windows updates SP3 and everything available up to this point
-(not sure if windows updates direct X, but I do have Direct X 9.0c)
-Pentium 4 Extreme Edition HT 3.2Ghz 800fsb
-1 GB ram
-ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB AGP

-Morrowind (updated to v 1.2.0722)
-Tribunal (updated to v 1.4.1313)
-Bloodmoon (updated to v 1.6.1820)

The game runs excellent @180 ish FPS @ 1400 x 1050 (thats as high as my monitor supports for some reason with the game)

As for the install of MGE, I followed the instructions on sourceforge for 3.8.0b (and a lot of earlier versions)
-extract files to morrowind folder
-replace all files
-run launcher and change resolution
-exit and run MGEgui
This is where my first problem is, it says the file D3DX9_30 not found ( D3DX9_40 on earlier versions of MGE )
-downloaded D3DX9_30 and put it in morrowind folder
-then run MGEgui, ERROR

anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
any help would be awesome!
-Jordan

Try installing the latest DirectX (June 2010 update) then try running MGEUI again.

Just extract it to a temporary folder like c:\temporary directx\ or something. Then run the extracted dxsetup.exe to install. After installation, you can just delete all those extracted files if you want.
