Using Tesvedit to add items to a chest

Hi all, I'm trying to add some armors to a chest (the player chest in the secret room in the sleeping giant specifically) using these instructions

But some of it is turning to moonspeak on me. Particularly step five has me confused. If someone would be willing to offer some help I'd be infinitely grateful
