Majestic44
I just restarted a new game of skyrim and cleaned everything up etc etc. When I log in with my new character I start to see the following message: "hardware antialiasing detected," after that shows up not ten seconds later this message shows up: "Error! bFloatRenderTarget=1 is not set in SkyrimPrefs.ini or you have several copies of this file." I made sure my graphics card has this game optimized for the game and I went to the notepad section under Skyrim folder in my game folder and made sure the bFloatRenderTarget=0 was saved as =1. Why am I getting this message and how do I correct it? Thank you in advance.
camaro_69_327
Leave it to Bethesda to confuse the issue with 2 Skyrimprefs.ini...YES one is a Default File But does Bethesda in all its wisdom call it a DEFAULT file NO> The Skyrimprefs.ini in the Game folder is not the file you want. E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Skyrim <<This is the default file and should not be edited. E:\Users\Dark\Documents\My Games\Skyrim <<the file in this location is what you want. Unless you use MO.... Mo Users will find their INI files in a Profile folder in the MO directory.E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\ModOrganizer\profiles\mods
Majestic44
Thank you Camaro that helped eliminate the error after I found the files from the older game and remove them. I still have antialiasing with some effects removed so when I get that fixed I'll be good to go.
