The Purpose of this thread.

In order to meet our beta release deadline of late 2015 it became apparent to me that the small (yet very talented) team I've assembled may not be able to reach our goal on time. This is why I am asking you to join our team, the more help we have, the better mod we can provide to the community. The better mod we can provide to the community, the more chance we have in curing the boredom of thousands worldwide.

Team Benefits

Everyone in our team will receive the opportunity at a "Pre-Beta" as well as exclusive updates and photos.

Being on the Shire team can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all modders, whether they be a rookie or a veteran.

Things to expect when joining.

1. A helpful and skilled team to work with and provide you with the information you require.
2. A well-developed mod that compliments the skills you bring to the table.
3. The opportunity to learn new skills or challenge the group in new ways.
4. An enjoyable mod that is fun and educational for both new modders and veterans.
Things the team expects from you.
1. Modders who can lend their own related skills or abilities and increase the value of the mod.
2. Modders who can who can help our team create a positive, fun and immersive experience that users will remember long after they've played it.
In meeting these expectations both the team and you can offer a valuable mod that is not only immersive, but fun. Here at the shire team we know that an exceptional Skyrim mod is built with the help of many dedicated volunteers.

Q.
"Why did you become interested in Skyrim/Modding?"
A.
"Well I always liked Skyrim/Hobbit/Lotr sort of fantasy stuff, and whenever i play skyrim I just feel really relaxed. Its just the music, the atmosphere, everything really. And then I found out about mods and how to do them, so I spent awhile watching tutorials and learning. Then I thought to try it myself, and I've begun really enjoy it now. I'll admit I'm not the best, but i think I'm getting better at it."

Q.
"What is your favorite part about the shire?"

A.
"Again back to the atmosphere and audio. Also just the way it looks it really makes me feel relaxed and joyful."
Q.

"When did you start playing TES games?"

A.

"I started playing Oblivion towards the release of Skyrim, Then I got Skyrim and played it through on the Xbox first before moving on to the PC."

Q.

"What is it that got you interested in the Lotr?"
A.
"I'm not quite sure, I guess I just heard about it a lot and decided to watch it."

Q.

"What Advice would you give an upcoming Modder?"

A.

"Well tutorials certainly help. And some things in Creation kit take time, so stuff will load and stuff will be lost due to many errors, as that has happened to me numerous times. But you just need to be patient and take your time on what you're doing."

Q.

"What first sparked your interest in Skyrim/Modding?"

A.
"I started off playing Skyrim on the console at first and I thought it was great. I got it for the PC, and learned about modding as I started to mess around with it. Then I realized what people could actually do with modding. And seeing as the game is completely modular, I thought it'd be possible to create a perfect game made to someone's specification. It could be realistic, fantasy, funny or horror. you can change the game to meet all these genres if you want."

Q.

"What Sparked your interest in the Lotr?"

A.

"I was pretty young when LOTR first came out, so I don't remember it well, but I'm a nut for anything with a medevil kind of background to it."

Q.

"How long have you been playing TES games?"

A.

"Since 2008, I first started with Morrowind, then Skyrim, and then Oblivion."

Q.

"Any hobbies outside of modding?"

A.

I'm a musician, I play guitar bass and drum. I'm Not very good at bass, but I've been playing guitar for a little over a year and the drums for two."

Q.

"Any advice for an upcoming quest designer?"

A.
A. " I feel like a lot of quests are pretty narrow. I would say If you put Some quests with different outcomes depending on your choices, or the questline will take a different path depending on what you choose would be excellent.

"What first sparked your interest in Skyrim/Modding?"

A.

The ability to customize and enhance your own gaming experience with the Creation Kit....and mods are cool xD

Q.

"What is your favorite part of the shire?"

A.

"It's so beautiful and peaceful, the shire has such a homily feel to it. It's like perfect place you would want to live with your family in a fairy tale."

Q.
"Any Hobbies outside modding?"

A.

"Gaming i guess. I don't really have any hobbies. XD"

Q.

"What advice would you give to an upcoming Texture Artist?"

A.

"Do what you like to do. Everyone's opinions will be different but as long as you tried your best and you really like it then GG!"

Q.

"What first sparked your interest in Modding?"

A.

"I guess we could take it all the way back to Halo 3, when I was around 11-12ish. In Halo there was a game mode called forge, basically allowing the player to design his own maps and game types. I guess ever since then every game I played I wanted to tweak, make my own game out of it. Then I discovered Skyrim and the tools of the CK, It was literally a dream come true."

Q.

"Any past modding experience?"

A.

"I was the book writer on several projects, including Daggerfalls and The Akavir Continent mod. Regrettably I had the misfortune to always help out with projects that never lasted more than 6 months."

Q.

"What is your favorite part about the shire?"

A.

"I would have to say Hobbits. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to be a Hobbit. To live in a community where everyone knew everyone, and they all lived in a fantasy world with limitless possibilities"

Q.

"How long have you been playing TES games?"

A.

"I'll admit, I'm not a die-hard fan. I started with Skyrim in 2012 and was completely baffled by the amount of detail. Since then I've played Morrowind, an I'm looking forward to Oblivion."

Q.

"Any hobbies outside of modding?"

A.

"Well I am currently working on my Eagle scout, aside from that I enjoy Film making/Editing and Breakdancing. (yes legit breakdancing, I don't know why people don't believe me when I tell them.)"

Q.

"If you were a piece of furniture what would you be?"

A.

"I would be a barrel. Idk I always go alphabetically."

Q.

"Any advice for an upcoming modder?"

A.

"Set goals. I've found that setting monthly and weekly goals keep me from getting lazy and playing flappy bird all day. Also don't get discouraged if you fail to meet a goal, just think of where you'd be if you hadn't set that goal."

Q.

What began your interest in Lotr?

A.

Shadows of Mordor

Q.

Any Hobbies outside modding?

A.

Modding is my only hobby, I am studying Psychology and going for a master in Neuropsychology.

Q.

Any advice for someone new to Scripting?

Steam Name: Thorstyn

Q.

"What first sparked your interest in Modding?"

A.

The opportunity to work on the applications of story writing, narratives and games.

Q.

What propelled your interest in the LoTR?

A.

The Hobbit! I didn't think I'd like LotR, but I loved fantasy, especially games like Neverwinter Nights. A class mate recommended Tolkien's works, and when I read the first pages of The Hobbit, I was sold!

Q.

"What is your favorite part about the shire?"

A.

I've always had a fascination for the Brandybuck family and Buck Hall, even though Buckland is technically outside The Shire.

(Also: Scary, solely because in the Dutch translation of LotR, it's the same as my last name)

Q.

"Any hobbies outside of modding?"

A.

Mainly music (playing a couple of instruments), writing and gaming.

Q.

"If you were a piece of furniture what would you be?"

A.

An enormous book case: filled with knowledge no one will ever need, but I will randomly spew tales and stories if you're not careful!

Q.

"Any advice for an upcoming modder?"

A.

Stick to what's close to you, and work your way out from there. It pays off to experiment, but don't stray too far from your comfort zone too quickly!

Q.

"What first sparked your interest in Modding?"

A.

What sparked my interest in modding was the creativity that was in some mods. Also getting to meet new people from other places is pretty cool.

Q.

What propelled your interest in the LoTR?

A.

Since I read a lot, I always enjoy fantasy. My father introduced LOTR to me long ago, since he always liked the series. I loved them so much, I kept asking him to buy me each book. Now, they're sitting on my shelf.

Q.

"When did you start playing TES games?"

A.

I have played Skyrim since it came out, but TES games I'm not sure. Maybe 3 years? Like I said though, I'm not sure.

Q.

"Any hobbies outside of modding?"

A.

I have so many hobbies. Piano, Painting, Volleyball, Writing, Reading, Swimming, Video Games, etc.

Q.

"Any advice for an upcoming modder?"

A.

Advice? Don't give up on your ideas. Don't be too shy to talk to others. Try to build communication with your team. And if you need more writers or modders in your mod, try it yourself first. If it's pointless, then ask help.

Q.

"What first sparked your interest in Skyrim/Modding?"

A.
I got in to modding when I was still playing Oblivion, which I still love to do from time to time, I think I started modding Oblivion around 4 years ago.

Q.

"Any past modding experience?"

A.

I was working on a total conversion mod for Oblivion called "Ravenhold", but that is now being converted to Skyrim. It's in a very early state still, but it's fun! I'm also working on a series of LOTR inspired mods. I released my first mod a few weeks ago, called Greenhill which is a Hobbit's hole player home. I'm now working on a Isengard inspired tower, which is going to be called Amon Girith.

Q.

"What is your favorite part of the shire?" (Tolkien's fictional setting.)

A.

The Green Dragon Inn. I wish inns like that still existed.

Q.

"What Sparked your interest in the Lotr?"

A.

I've been a Huuuuuuuge tolkien nerd ever since The Fellowship of the Ring got released. And it has inspired my life in so many ways. I used to collect the Weta Workshop LOTR action figures, still got them in my display, probably around 50 of them. Also, I started reading the Silmarillion last week, very good so far.

Q.

"How long have you been playing TES games?"

A.

Probably around 6 or so years.

Q.

"Any hobbies outside of modding?"

A.

Music, concerts, nature, friends and family, good beer and my dog.

Q.

"If you were piece of furniture what would you be?"

A.

A Mead barrel, without a doubt.

Q.

"Any advice for an upcoming quest designer?"

A.

Create whatever you have in mind, try new things and keep going.

Hey, I know you linked the other thread, but it would be beneficial to post a few pictures of the progress you've already made since so many people just look at a page, don't noitce the link, and then leave.

I like the personal touches you gave each member of the team.

Thanks Mlee. We try our best to treat our members like individuals, not resources. And adding personal touches/quick interviews is just one of the many ways we accomplish that task.
