Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 12.1[16]{18}

The Fireblood Triplets (Jessie, Johnnie and Joanna) made sure that the refugees came upon a large amount of resources. There were box-vendor and box-dispenser goods but none of the group items or weapons or armour. Everything else was in abundance, especially supplies.

They came as wozzles, saffron humans, elves, gnomes, dwarns (dwarves) centaurs (not actually horse human hybrids), and other entities. They came as refugees, often sick and wounded, carried in pony-carts or by big hulking oliphants (armoured elephants) or by smaller carts pulled by people. There were over 500 people, finally counted to be 528 including babies. There were animals, more primitive plantimals (some plantimals being considered to be 'people') .

They occupied another glowcavern full of flora-fauna but did so focused in an area of rock, carefully clearing only a relatively small area of local plants. After a moment of checking the equipment-supplies, mostly supplies, out carefully they started using them. Clearly they badly needed to use them.

The Firebloods took turns in observing the newcomers. They would take positions, along with others, on small ledges of the glowcavern walls. Of course the newcomers knew somebody else was there; somebody had to have left the equipment-supplies out in the open with basic clan symbologies of welcome, charity and peaceful intentions. The wozzle infant had begun to speak of her people's ways, of her early learnings of their culture and technologies.

When the wozzle detected wozzles, of her own race, there in the encampment she became sorrowful and agitated.

Joanna, Johnnie and Jessie sat with the babes for the neobaby was agitated in response to the wozzle infant's actions. They were in their friendly decorated chamber apartment.

Jessie spoke as she hugged the wozzle in her arms. “Are you worried that we will give you away, baby girl?”

TankiaTua shook her head. “I am worried that elders take me away and shamans do bad things because they think something is wrong with me. I named OorderTua, giving beloved him my people's name. I don't want trouble for that or to have to give up my little beloved brother. Lovely neobaby snooky snooky.”

OorderTua nodded. “Lovely big sister, wozzle snooky snooky.”

Johnnie had the neobaby in a special adjusted pouch. “We won't let any bad things happen to wozzle or neobaby, adorable sweeties, snooky snooky.”

The wozzle sighed as if releasing a whole of worry and seconds later so did the neobaby. Then both went to sleep. Their sleep patterns had not been good recently and they had some catching up to do. Johnnie, and Jessie, made the two more comfortable.

Plans were made and Joanna was to lead an envoy group to meet the newcomers.

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 13.1[17]{19}

The name, Fireblood, came out of slowly clarifying memories. The Fireblood Triplets had fought the oppressive, corrupt, inefficient world system with a war of mind-body-spirit, of psychological warfare, of physical combat and cyber battles. The Fireblood Triplets had been betrayed and had been captured by elite corporate mercenaries, who had suffered heavily for their prizes, but after that memories revealed nothing except foggy glimpses of dark times.

Clearer memories were of slum cities, great low skydomes, half drowned cities, death game arenas, world wide 3DTV entertainment networks, cyborg mercenaries, power armoured government troopers, huge hulking skytowers, huge lower wider hulking skyblocks, one way antigrav-boosted shuttles, two way antigrav shuttleplanes, the Lunar Colonies, superdrugs, smartdrugs, SVR (super virtual reality), semipermanent tattoos, force-domes protecting larger areas, force-bubbles protecting smaller areas, mid orbital colonies, cable-teleportation networks for non living things, genetically engineered battlebeasts, hubcopters, 3Dcomic-books, neotobacco cigarettes, the Cult Conspiracy, the SilverBeatles rock-pop band, world football, unisexual microskirts, advanced cosmetic surgeries, rejuvenation processes, regeneration medical treatments, zipsuits, the World Wide Faith of TrueLife, the Scattered War and much else.

There had been more than that happening but, for the moment, it was repressed.

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 14.1[18]{20}

Joanna led the envoy group into the small cleared area, that was part of a ring surrounding the refugee settlement, that already had a wall up and around it. The wall was quite high, had battlements and stocky guard-towers, was camouflaged, had three gates of which one was larger than the others, and was made of a mixture of local and box-dispenser provided materials. It was well designed and made. The defences also showed the great fear of the refugees but from what?

Joanna came in her original gear, with no guns though she did openly carry some knives, and with four companions. They were Abe, Wulee, Castral and Dentor. The five paced smoothly up towards the main gates only to have them open before they got to touch them.

Five humanoids came to meet them being hood-robed elders. One was a saffron human, one was a short furry wozzle, one was an elegant elf, one was a shorty stocky dwarn (dwarf) and one was a softly glowing translucent being that floated just above the ground.

The saffron human woman stepped forward, pulling her hood back to reveal a slightly wrinkled face and very 'aged' eyes. She spoke in Transtalk, a regional trade-diplomacy language, and the triplets found that they could understand it fluently.

“We thank you for the gifts and have noted the child's versions of symbologies that you left to make it clear that they were such. For that we are grateful.” She half smiled. “It concerns us that you have come to occupy a site of ancient artefacts that provide many useful resources that are now most needed by our people.”

Joanna responded. “You are welcome to the gifts and there will be more to come. As for the ancient artefact structures, most of them appeared in response to us being here or so it seemed. We are a peaceful group of young human folk who are simply seeking a peaceful, secure, home.”

The way that Joanna, and her people, stood was almost motionless and yet as if ready to strike out in a moment. They formed an effective attack-defence-retreat formation. Hidden away were twenty other Terran humans with targets already marked with their autorifles. The marked ones were guards on the battlements who wore reinforced leather armour and carried what seemed like medieval weapons at first glance.

The matriarch elder gave a quick nod. “We thank you for your generosity both past, and to become. We would be happier if you hidden soldiers would cease to aim their weapons at our guards, on the wall of our settlement.”

Joanna flickered a hand signal, with each hand. Then she spoke. “It is done! They had targets marked in case you attacked us. You outnumber us more than five to one.”

The dwarn man spoke,low and stocky. “We have only few experienced, professional, fighters amongst us but you move like elite killers and you slip through the landscape in a way that even long experienced scouts, or hunters, would envy. We sent out our best scouts and they failed to find any marks of your movements except for the slightest traces that told them not much at all. Only long experience, and excellent training, allowed them to pick up those traces.”

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 14.2[19]{21}

Joanna shrugged. “We are only interested in being at peace. We have found, and helped, a wozzle child and a neobaby. We have treated them so that they are now fully healthy and fit.”

The wozzle matriarch's ears visibly pricked up, which was something they had seen happen with the adopted infant. “What is her name?”

Joanna responded carefully. “TankiaTua! We have adopted her. There is also her neobaby brother OorderTua that she named for him with the tradition of her people. We have also adopted the neobaby. Both are under our protection.”

The wozzle matriarch nodded. “I 'sense' your deep love for her, and her 'named' little brother. I am her grandmother. I came here partly to find my granddaughter. You treated her, you say. What happened to her?”

Joanna smiled, feeling somehow that she could trust this one. “TankiaTua, and OorderTua, had parasites in them and we somehow caused them to peacefully meld with the parasites so that they assist each other, to survive, as one. We are the Fireblood Triplets, of which I am one, and we are given guiding messages. We are almost one being three semiautonomous beings.”

The wozzle bowed and then spoke. “Then you are one of the reasons we robed ones came here. You have shown your first step in your generosity. You could have demanded much from us, even if it was in the longer term?”

Joanna shook her head. “You are TankiaTua's people and that is enough. Since we have adopted her, we are linked to you. What of her parents?”

The wozzle matriarch gave out an odd sigh. “I am AteriaTua! TankiaTua's parents rejected her, when she was found to have a supposed cursed defect. The tribal elders took the infant to be cared for by an elderly wozzle woman who cared for her well. Then the village was attacked by the infested ones, by zombies and more powerful, smarter, ones that guided them. The villagers fought back, hard, but many were killed including the parents of TankiaTua and the kind wozzle woman who had cared for TankiaTua. Ironically, I was on my way to the village, with others, to bring justice to TankiaTua's case. We got there in time to fight off the monsters, killing many of them, but TankiaTua was taken alive. Clearly the mark, they found on her, decided them that she was important. She is marked as one who, if 'turned' would become a most powerful kind of undead being a high-vampire or even a lich.”

Johnnie brought the wozzle infant to her grandmother, who made it clear that the wozzles would accept, and respect, that she had been adopted. But the infant still had a grandmother who held, and hugged, her granddaughter to herself. Clearly she was most happy to find that TankiaTua was not only safe but transformed so amazingly.

The other robed ones, who turned out to be of the Guardianhood (as was the grandmother), were a little more wary. Yet even they were soon accepting that the wozzle infant, and neobaby, showed none of the signs of being 'infested'. Also TankiaTua's strange mark was gone!

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 15.1[20]{22}

There was an evolving process going on with the ancient artefact mechanisms. The box-vendors changed so that different menus were accessible to different people but that all were accessible to all people. The basic list remained accessible to all but expanded with new camp-cookers, camp-heaters, camp-coolers, special fuel for those devices, machete sets, bigger tents, tarps of different sizes, a variety of special artisan tool kits, new ranges of food-rations and basic construction equipment-supplies.

The newcomers gained access to the 'medieval' armour-arms menu that expanded to contain spears crossbows, crossbow bolts, boxbows, boxbow darts, shortbows, longbows, arrows, scabbard-quivers, portable targets and related items. What the local peoples showed was that all of these items could be 'magicfied' to give them new abilities, new uses. The group lost access to this menu.

The group's menu of copies of items, from the homeworld, expanded with new equipment-supplies including some special devices, expanding lists of books and other publications, and odd items.

Expanded menus gained submenus for easier use.

Box-dispenser menus staid the same.

Everybody had generating tradecredit, some more than others. It was becoming clear that the triplets had a special large amount of tradecredit and that other group members had a large amount if not as large. The locals had less but it was still very useful. That is except for the wozzle infant and neobaby, who had the same as any group member; their tradecredit status had changed with their transformation and adoption.

Local peoples tended not to use the ancient artefact mechanisms for reasons that they were reluctant to speak of. The Guardianhood warned the Firebloods that the use of them had, in the past, led to some strange and even deadly consequences. Were they hinting at the threat of the infestation?

The Guardianhood five were wary of the five exotic androids, that they detected with fair ease. Again the wozzle grandmother was less wary than the others, was soon speaking with Abe, Eve, Ivy, Ono and Uzi.

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

Zero 3.1[3]{23}

The battles ended, the prehumans survived, the threat was apparently gone. The ETEs came, from space, and many prehumans went with them to another world. The others were given new enhancements, new technologies. Prehumans evolved to become different subspecies and races. A subspecies arose that was to have saffron orange skin and hair.

An Ice Age came and went!

A minor timespace event took place altering everything, even perceived history, but only to a relatively small extent.

Saffron subspecies inhabited Atlantis arose as an advanced civilisation with an odd mixture of technologies such as elemental muskets, shimmer shields, floating craft, advanced medicines and yet a wide range of more traditional artisan crafts still being used.

Then, one day, the 'greys' attacked from the sky to strike at Atlantis. A great number of enemies, and there saucercraft, were destroyed in the attack along with their invading manufactured robots, vat grown minions and force bred hybrid soldiers. Yet much death, destruction and disruption was sown with the large island civilisation.

Buildings burned and crumbled even as shimmer shields successfully protected others. Atlantian dartcraft rammed into a grey saucerboat, pilots giving their lives to bring down the alien craft as flaming wreckage. Unfortunately it struck a dome and split that graceful structure. Beneath the dome, though, all remained safe.

Landed enemy forces were having a bad time of it. Atlantian defences, and defenders, were clever. Grey robots were brought down with EMP weapons. Hybrid soldiers fell into booby-trap pits that pulled them down or were trapped in shimmer wall mazes, as were the terrible abomination beasts. Atlantians fought with elemental muskets whose glowing projectiles called enemies to burst into flames or to explode or to sizzle with electricity. Yet a few enemies were caught to be held and studied.

Mondrake watched as a grey saucership exploded dramatically overhead, mostly disintegrating as pulsebeams of energy struck at it. But it was not the Atlantians that had done this, shooting as they did with their elemental cannons, but glowing yellow-white spheres that came zipping through the atmosphere.

Saffron skinned Mondrake knew, standing there in his finest metallic robes, that Atlantis was doomed despite the last minute rescue by the unknown ETEs (extraterrestrial entities). Too much damage had been done and Atlantis was now marked as a future target of the greys as, out there in space, a war was being fought.

Atlantians would have to disperse across the world or even go into space. Atlantis would remain as a smaller, far more fortified, citystate.

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

Zero 3.2[4]{24}

An Atlantian sky-sail soared gracefully overhead, fleeing from the attentions of a far more dangerous Greynari saucerboat but the grey saucer exploded as a sphere came to the rescue.

A great, graceful, spiral-tower collapsed into a burning explosion and Mondrake cried out his pain for the building had been one of his designs, had become the very center of Atlantis City, had become a majestic symbol for Atlantis. Now, just in a few minutes, it was gone! Other graceful structures survived, in the distance, and Mondrake wondered why some areas had been targeted and not others.

Then, as he died from the enemy energy beam that struck him, he knew that the attack had been made to destroy him and not the civilisation of Atlantis. The reason? Because he was the Eternal Seeker. Yet the attack had failed for one day he would return as special triplets; they would be Jessie, Johnnie and Joanna Fireblood. Long before then he would return as his own descendent to assist the process of creating the Atlantian Empire and making sure it was a good, and fair, realm.

Or had the attack failed to achieve some dark goal?

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 16.1[21]{25}

338 new teen-adults appeared, all geared up as the first group, of just over 100, had been. A new leadership came and they were very capable so that the Firebloods were happy enough to give over that role to them. The newcomers were soon accepting the triplets as important consultants and commanders of special programs and projects.

Some of the newcomers became transformed into elemental humans while others transformed to gain the psychic-psionic, psychic-spiritual or physical-psionic powers. The changes were startling but those changed improved in character and became valuable to the colony, as it was starting to be called.

The triplets took turns at leading special recon missions out from the known areas, to spaces not even well known by the local refugees; they did have rough maps, stories and some other data to share with the triplets. There were some much larger glowcaverns, than had been previously encountered by the teen-adults, and they were a mixture of fully, partly or non fertile in nature.

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 17.1[22]{26}

Johnnie was leading a taskteam along a wide ledge, running as part of one wall of a great glowcavern. The great space was filled with ugly, gnarled plant life and visible creatures were very tough seeming. Though the taskteam was more exposed on the ledge, Johnnie had preferred to have his group avoid going through the terrible looking terrain. They could do so later, after they had taken a view of it from above.

Uzi, the exotic android, was with the taskteam along with Andrios the solar elemental human. He very much looked like one of the teen-adults. Andrios had learned to look something like his old self by concealing his solar elemental powers.

There were also three wozzles, dressed only in webbing of leather belts dotted with pouches and other items, along with basic loin-cloths, their fur being most of their covering.

Johnnie had gained, to his surprise, psychic-psionic abilities of sharp power while Jessie had gained the same of physical-psionic nature and Joanna had gained psychic-spiritual abilities.

It was hard to say who detected the threat first but the group crouched, all bringing guns to the ready accept for Andrios who was better with out one, his solar elemental powers always threatening to set off ammo.

Like winged, black, serpents they came darting, zigzagging, through the sky from a far off area of the glowcavern. They were deadly appearing and all 'sensed' that the creatures were erratic, savage and equipped with very dangerous means of attack. Soon great fangs were revealed and glistening orifices that appeared designed to project something.

A wozzle male scout spoke with apparent fear and wonder. “Sckorda serve the Draconian Empire (Dragon Empire of Queendoms and Protectorates). They rarely come this far from the vast suncavernlands (of suncrystal not glowcrystal) known as the Dragonlands that are but part of the greater realm known as the Havenlands. If sckorda are here, then so are others of the Dragonia, so perhaps are dragons. There must be an important reason for them to be here.”

One

The sckorda checked out the group, from a safe distance, with their amazing orb-eyes before they swept around elegantly and moved on. Johnnie suspected that the sckorda were searching with more than their eyes but using other enhanced physical senses and psychic senses. It was clear that they were searching for something but that was not something like the group. They kept flying, in the same zigzagging pattern, until they were gone from sight.

Johnnie sighed. “Next time we go through the cavern at ground level. We got digital recordings so it is time for us to return to Homebase and report on the incident. We need to be careful, in future, with both the sckorda and what ever, it is, that they are searching for.”

The voice spoke strongly, confidently, female but not humanly, in his mind.

Epic Survival (From Lesser to Greater)

One 17.2[23]{27}

Gamevoy: [i am the Game Envoy, of many aspects, known as Gamevoy. You have done well in the Great Game as Apprentice Players. Joanna, Jessie and yourself are chosen to take the Sapphire Playerbands as Elite Players. Silver means Special Players and Copper means Expert Players. This is an actualised gameworld that you are in, a realm evolved beyond the original gameworld concept of Dragons, Dinosaurs and Djiins.]

Johnnie remembered the gameworld concept as produced by the Master Games Corporation. The triplets had done most of the work only to be cheated by those who took all of the credit, wealth and other rewards. Five months later the cheats had all died in the same hoverlimo explosion. The Master Games Corporation had then quietly given credit, wealth and other rewards to those who had earned it, except for the triplets. Though the triplets had not been the ones to kill the cheats, they had been set up to take the blame. Their reputation was given a battering and they openly retired from the gaming industry.

A month later authorities, of the dark joke of a justice system, took the real culprits into custody. They were tried, on a large amount of new evidence, and three were terminated. The other 25 went into hard labour camps. Only then were the Fireblood Triplets finally granted what they deserved but by then it was too late and they staid away from the super virtual reality gaming industry. They successfully sued the Master Games Corporation for millions of transplanetary dollars. By that time they were part of the rebellion.

The group returned to Homebase except the wozzles who diverted to return to their home settlement.
