Ok so i recently decided to get Dragon Age 2 on PC for Mods and to use the console for a bit of fun, now then i think ive got the console working, when i hit the button to open it my character stops moving and i cant open menus etc.

but when i type in a code and hit enter nothing happens, ive tried runscript addmoney x, and also runscript zz_upgrade but without any effect.

anyone know what the problem is?

(my version is an Origin download, and i only have the black emporium DLC)

How to enable the console

In a nutshell create the following shortcut
"C:/Program Files/Dragon Age II/bin_ship/DragonAge2.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

So all that is bolded you can left click on the short cut, select properties, and copy/paste that into the target.  Be sure to flip the / around to \ (and that's because this site's bbcode keeps turning those into smiley faces.)

Once that is done when you're in the game type ` to put it into console mode (that's the upper left key on the keyboard).  You won't be able to see what you type however.

Hmmm... From your description, (character can't move, no menus) you are correctly invoking the Command Console.  And the two examples you gave are exactly right; "runscript addmoney [x]", (without the quotes and replacing [x] with the number of coppers to be added) and "runscript zz_upgrade", which should open the crafting screen.

So the only thing left is that you are making a typo when you are entering the command itself.  :ermm:

(Which is easy to do.  I've done it many, many times!  )
