Skyrim CTD's when launched through SKSE

Recommended Posts

My Skyrim CTD on launch when launched from the SKSE application. However when I launch it from Steam, it works just fine. Im 99.9% sure I installed it correctly! I have disabled all my mods as well.

EDIT: Issue has now been fixed using TESVEdit. However, now the game CTDs when I arrive at the opening sequence. Must be some mod conflicts I have? Here is the BOSS log:

Did you read the log?

When a messages says REQUIRES that is what it means - and the game may crash without it.

there is also an incompatible error that may cause crashes

So when a mod says Requires CBBE - it was not found in the load order

Then there are a bunch of unrecognized mods that BOSS cannot do anything with

BOSS is obsolete and has been replaced with LOOT - http://loot.github.io/

Dirty edits and navmesh problems may or may not cause a crash - but should be fixed with Tes5edit

Then there are things like this

Tropical Skyrim.esp Version 1.0 Active

And way down in the list another weather mod

  • Pureweather.esp Active

Pureweather is NOT causing my crashes. I have completely disabled Tropical Skyrim from my load order as I thought maybe it was "too much" for my rig combined with my ENB (which I have also uninstalled completely), to no avail.

As far as using TESVEdit to edit dirty edits and navmesh problems, Im a bit confused on that. I have been told that cleaning dirty edits is a bad idea as some mods are purposely made dirty, and it is generally up to the author to clean these mods. Is that untrue, should I be cleaning the dirty edits? Also I have been somewhat worried by the NavMesh warnings, and have attempted to fix those using TESVEdit, however the guide is complicated and makes little to no sense to me. For one, it says I have to look for the cell directory, however BOSS does not give me a cell directory for these deleted NavMeshes.

However, I will now look into LOOT.

EDIT: Im rather confused on how to use LOOT.. any guides?

EDIT: I have deleted a few problematic mods that I dont have the requirements for. I have updated the OP with the BOSS log that I now have.

Also I have used LOOT to establish a better load order. Here is the load order that LOOT has given me:

I've had a breakthrough! I disabled all the files that deleted NavMeshes and presto! the CTD has stopped! However, I would still like to use those mods so if someone could direct me on how to restore the NavMeshes using TESVEdit / BOSS / LOOT. Thanks!

I do not know what CK is, which is what all the guides tell me to use so if someone could explain that to me :)

I hate to say this but no it will take way more time than you think to mod that into a usable pluggin.

Just concentrate on getting your game to actually function with some mods installed first. And not crash.

I have no active save game going on in Skyrim right now, so if I mess up, I'll just remove the mods its no biggie. Honestly, I would very much like to use these mods so for me it's worth a try, whether it's hard or not.
