So I recently joined the Nexus community and was extremely excited to do so. I've owned Skyrim for about two years now and had never used the Nexus.

I installed the mod manager, downloaded my mods, and tried to run Skryim. It failed, crashed right after the loading screen. I thought it had to do with a mod conflict, but upon using TES5Edit I found out it's something about my Dawngaurd.esm

It fails and says "Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: "Dawnguard.esm" requires master "Update.esm" to be loaded before it.>"

I can easily install a patch or an update, but I'm not sure what I need. Please help, much appreciated!

Download and install LOOT to correct your load order: http://loot.github.io/

You could also try manually placing Update.esm before Dawnguard.esm in your mod manager.

If you don't have a Update.esm, you should let Steam update your game to acquire it.

Got it all worked out now, thank you so much! The update is in and everything is working perfectly :)
