Graphics Card Support

In the requirements of fallout 3 it has a list of compatible graphics cards, does this mean that if you are using anything over than these cards you will not be able to play it? Because i have tried every single fix there is out there to fix the windows 7 problem with fallout 3 and now i am just starting to doubt the possibility of me even being able to play the game.

Thanks in advance

p.s My graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

Okay ill answer these in the order you gave them to me in.

Yes my main processor is intel it is a Intel Core i5 M430 @ 2.27Ghz

The game is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 3

And as for the specs of my laptop, you already have CPU and GPU, i have 3GB of RAM and running on Windows 7.

Sorry if i missed anything out im new to all this stuff but if anything else is required, let me know and ill get it for you. :)

Marginal at best if it loads ,FPS will be in the toilet.

That tells the story of intel, so your not alone. IT may or may not work. system requires half as bar minimum to run....that's 1.5gigs your left with 1 gig cuz the extra data is used by hyper-sleep and things.

Note books are NOT recommended PC's for games if not large enough to handle gaming.

in Either case. this link should allow you to get more information about what it is your up against. Though...it is a graphics by pass, it renders code for intel chip sets.

HP PC's have problems with graphic intense old games.

let me know if it works.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 3

Install the game else where too, the system will not let you run things on 7 in that location.

C:\games or any name will do.

Tell steam to install it some where else.

Okay thanks, i have added the ini and the dll files to the correct places, ill get back to you when ive reinstalled the game

This isn't possible. The xlive.dll is an .exe file that has to have the Fallout 3 folder already created. You will not have the folder is you uninstalled the game. If you install over whatever file into which you placed the xlive.dll, it will be overwritten and you will have to install it again. You could not have edited the .ini since the game has to be run from the launcher in order for the file to be created.
