How do you lessen the time? I looked on the nexus page and everything, I don't know WHAT to do with calipers and none of the console commands in the book work.

Anyone know why the NPC's that chain beasts knock out simply go unconscious rather than crawling to the chairs?
@ sirwaffles: Same probem here when captured trying to get the spells. Annoying since the requirement for access to the dungeon the spells are in is you have to be gagged AND free.
Found a way to retrieve the spells without being captured. Here is the workaround that I used:
(using the lastest version of the ChainBeast mod caused the game to repeatedly crash when I even got close to Nenalata so ran it without the update patch.)
1. Using OBMM you need to find the load # for the UChainBeast.esp (as an exampple my load number is "0C". This has an effect on your item id's)
2. When you manage to get to Nenalata open the console and type "TAI" to turn off the AI (makes things easier to do as you won't get attacked by the chainbeasts immediately) you may want to grab a gagkey from a dead chain beast now. as you won't be able to take any of your existing weapons with you.
3. using your OBMM load order enter "player.additem (OBMM load #)00E698 1" to add the chainbeast gag to your inventory.
if you're still confuzzled by the load #'s heres a few more examples.
If the OBMM load # for the UChainBeast.esp is 03 the item id will be 0300E698. If it's 12 then the item # will be 1200E698.
4. leave console and move to the door near the river THEN equip the gag. After all items have been transferred to the storage coffer, move to the door by the docking chairs.
5. Enter third person view infront of the door. (default key is 'R' I think)
6. Open the console and click on your character to target yourself, then type "setfactionrank (OBMM load#)014002 0"
This sets your faction rank to runaway.
7. now you can turn on the AI as the chainbeasts wont attack for awhile. enter the dungeon and if you grabbed the key earlier, open your inventory and unequip the gag. Now you can use weapons instead of immediately dropping them.
You'll have to redo these steps to enter Nenalata's door

According to what I understand, the time captives are held is in real time or 'play time' not game time. Saving would be wise before constructing any CB items. Ya can't get rid of them after if you make a mistake.
The minimum amount of time you can set the chairs for is 1 hour. The calipers set the # of hours in the chair before being released. ( I'm assuming it's a 1-1 ratio) so 1 caliper is 1 hour of play time.
The # of tongs sets the random hours. (assuming the 1-1 ratio again) if you put 5 tongs in the marker, then random captives will spend 5 hrs in the chairs.
Quills set the levers activation per hour when they aren't set to manual.
The eyes set the number of total CB allowed to spawn for that chair stations control area. (each egg only spawns 2 CB at a time. You need to set the total CB allowed per hour via the egg creation spell BEFORE creating the egg.)
Additionally if you set up chair stations to close to each other, they compete for 'crawlers'. The losing station receives a scythe in it's marker, making that station inactive.
As for the codes,"set uchainbeastquest.maleok to 1" allows male PCs to activate the eggs. This state should be remembered in save games.
If the PC is male then only male characters are captured. By default only non-tailed female player characters can activate the eggs (set uchainbeastquest.maleok to 0). The CBs only capture female NPCs/PCs by default as well. Males and tailed females can be knocked down by Chain Beasts, but they are not stripped or chained, and will revive after a while. Odd as one would assume if your PC is male the code allows the CB's to capture both sexes, not just females.
keep in mind that if your pc is male and you use 'set chainbeastquest.maleok to 1' and the code for kaijits and/or arigonians it will still only go after males. If your PC is female and you use the codes as above, the CBs target everyone.

Small Bug.
The Chainbeasts around Nenalata can't knock me out with the spell they use, they always aim the spell into the ground beneath me. Is there a way for me to put the spell effects on myself so they just have to grab me?

I am having the issue with the game crashing everytime I get captured by the chain beasts. I get captured, get knocked down, then when the beasts start dragging me after a few yards, my game crashes. I couldn't find any information about this issue. Any help is appreciated.

could you make the a horse using the crawler version so you can ride it like a horse but look like your inside the crawler so it will use the whip but you can move through the city or tamriel without being dragged to the docks
if you could you could make the horse type spell uchainbeast mount or something like that
