From what I've read, occasionally quests get messed up if you do one partially, do a few others, then go back to finish that one. This might be your problem. It's usually a good idea to stick to one quest, breaking only if there is something where you need to be at a certain place at a certain time. Like returning the next day, going somewhere durring business hours, waiting somewhere till a certain time. Since these stages are based on more specific events, they tend to break less frequently than ones where you need to have a certain thing told to you. You might be able to fix the quest by skipping ahead to where that NPC tells you to go, but this doesn't always work.

In this case,

ShowMap BloodmayneCaveMapMarker

looks like a viable option. If you've already been inside before the quest, this would likely be a problem.

That command does nothing.

Item BloodmayneCave not found for parameter Map Marker

Is there any way to restart a quest?

So it does... Try searching west of Bravil.

Unfortunately I am not yet up to speed on all the Oblivion console commands. In MW you could often solve a problem by adding the topic via the console. Addtopic "xyz". I have no idea if this is still possible in Oblivion. You can always try.

You may be able to restart the quest by using the 'setstage' command. If not, you can certainly finish it that way and move on. To do this you need to find the script in the Construction set to see what the setstage details are. Or ask someone on the forum to look it up for you.

I have, and it's already on my map, but the quest hasn't updated since I spoke to the Chey Orc regardless after asking my guildies in Bravil suggested.. <_<

I'm close to giving up on that quest...

What ID is the fugitive quest so I can start it again?

Have you gone inside and killed them? Did you do that before the quest was given?

Did you try opening the console and typing 'addtopic fugitives'? If it accepts it with or without quote marks around the word 'fugitives' talk to a city guard in Bravil again.

Anyway the quest code appears to be FG08Prison. So SetStage FG08 Prison and then a number should be the code to type in. I don't know the number but they are usually (though not always) multiples of 10. There are several stages, when you are given it, when you get info from the guards, when you kill each fugitive and when you finish the quest. Experiment until you get the number you need.

After further investigation of the cave, I found a secret passage leading to where the fugitives were hiding. Now that I've completed the quest, mods can lock this topic now. :)
