WavePad 3.05 is an older but free version of NCH Software's audio editing program.

 

This audio editing software is a full featured professional sound editor for Windows. It lets you make and edit voice and other audio recordings. When editing audio files you can cut, copy and paste parts of recordings and, if required, add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction. WavePad works as a wav editor or mp3 editor but it also supports a number of other file formats including vox, gsm, real audio, au, aif, flac, ogg and more.

Hello LHammonds,

 

I'm not sure if you can help, or even if it is possible, but I have installed WavePad today in the hope of being able to change my voice narration of certain sections of my new video project so that it sounds like a Dark Elf speaking.

Reducing the pitch of my voice is pretty straight forward, but I'm having real trouble trying to simulate the graverly/hoarse effect that most of the Dark Elves seem to have. I've tried everything I can think of including the X-Orcism VST plug in from SSL. but the nearest I can get is to produce an echo, or reverb effect that just sounds like I'm talking through a poorly tuned audio system.

 

Just wondered if you had come across anything that might help, or if you can advise on which effects might work.
