Total Neophyte Requests Help Making Sense of Mods

Let me start out by saying I've never added mods to Morrowind before, and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I installed the version of Wrye Mash that said I didn't need to download python.

I installed the Code Patch, but when I choose my preferences, I am told it couldn't find Morrowind.exe and to make sure it is in the same directory. I have no idea what that means.

Now, I only downloaded that because it said to on the Morrowind Rebirth page.

Every time I boot up Morrowind with the Rebirth plug-in and master files checked, I am bombarded with about 30 or so messages informing me that there are model load errors. Eventually, it will tell me it can't find the animations for sitting slaves or rock crabs and close out completely, much to my frustration.

There are big yellow diamonds with exclamation points at the Pelagiad-Seyda Neen pass gate, on the Seyda Neen fast travel dock, inside Arrille's Tradehouse, and a few others.

While I did download Wrye Bash, it doesn't show up on my Data Files mod list. I'm not sure how to use it, its just open and shows my mods (which are the UCP and Rebirth) and saves.

As I said, I have no idea what I'm doing. I thought Wrye Mash was supposed to take care of these things? UESP showed me three different ones, of which a series of clicks led me to one (I believe here) that said I didn't need python or any of that unless I wanted to edit the source code, which I don't.

I would like a step by step guide to installing all of this, and failing that, directions to the best step by step guide available. Again, I have never modded before and would like somebody to hold my hand.

Even Vista is screwy, best to make a new folder and install to C:Games or C:Morrowind easier to find too..

Directory is the folder Morrowind is in (i.e. Program files/Bethesda/Morrowind)

Open "My computer" or "Windows Explorer" (assuming we're on a windows machine)

once you find the folder look up "Allow yes to All"

you need to change the morrowind.ini file

wrye Mash is for morrowind

wrye Bash is for oblivion
