I've caught the disease outside of the main quest (in fact I was just 1/2 through with the stone quests) and I proceeded w/ the Skaal Quest up to the 'Test of Strength', but after that I had to cure myself because Wind-Eye refused to speak w/ me about anything since I 'followed the path of the beast'. I cured myself later via the scoll in Gloom Cave and now, ironically, I'm up to the point where Skaal itelf is under attack by werewolves....
Now, is there a way to play the werewolf quests that I've heard a little about or is it a situation where you can only play it through the Skaal quests (at least up to the werewolf attack, where obviously you'd catch the disease...assuming you survived)? I ask b/c it's already been roughly a week of shapeshifting and, apart from the more-or-less generic transformation dreams, I've been shown no signs of a werewolf quest.
I'd hate to go ALL the way back to my pre-ww game and do all those annoying quests again. Just thought to ask about this to be sure since the pinned werewolf info doesn't go too far describing the ww quests or how they begin exactly.

There is a werewolf in a Barrow on the East coast of the island, South-Southeast from Skaal Village, directly East of Uncle Sweetshare's Shack, and equidistant from Thirsk and a tomb with a natural stone arch over it. It only appears during the night, but does so regardless of the PC's completion of the main quest.
As for catching lycanthropy again after you've had it cured...
Player->AddSpell "Werewolf Blood"
Sleep around for a wee bit and you'll recieve a dream from Hircine in which he asks you to defend the Totem of Claw and Fang.

That's the tomb with the natural stone arch over it. And dreugh are not amphibious, nor are they found anywhere near Solstheim. The tomb you'er looking for is on the Eastern coast and is roughly equidistant from said tomb and Thirsk.
