I have finally completed my merger project of 1000 or so plugins, not necessarily into one .esp file, but a lot less than 1000, that work and load without a problem. I am going through gameplay right now to check and weed out a few more of them. The bad side of this is that I have found the character to be too strong and all the creatures are too weak. I am writing an .esp file now to buff up all the creatures in MW-BM-TR-1000plugins to even up the game a bit, after this I shuld be able to compile my final walkthrough and start actually enjoying the plugins that are compatible out of the 3400 that I started with. I will be burning all required information to 2-3 cd's for myself so I can use it seamlessly. I will list my plugins here that I found compatible and playable together (after some hacking) in a future reply. Amazingly it works! I didnt just blindly merge a bunch of crap either, I sorted and am troubleshooting the final stuff now, will update later.

That's a rather impressive feat to accomplish. I look forward to seeing the end result and not having my data files cluttered with tons of mods.

The only downside to this, is not knowing what changes each plugin makes, and being unable to select what to keep and what you want to trash. If a plugin adds the effect of breathing heavy, unable to jump, and then fainting as due to over-stressing the body while depleting stamina, and I don't like the mod, I want to be able to uncheck it and keep all the other mods. If you merge all the plugins into a few large plugins, it becomes impossible to do this.

Congrats on the effort, but I won't be using this. Noobs may find it a good fix for having to manage a ton of mods, tho.

My mind absolutely BOGGLES at the feat itself... did you say 1,000 plug-ins?!!! A thousand??
Is that in "american money"??

I have merged 1000 plugins, and though the problems were huge, I have edited them to be correct, as correct can be. I had to make a few sacrifices, but the end result is a cd set that I can use and install in the future with few .esp files to click. I am still using a total of 214 esp files (including the 1000 merged in that assessment) It was/is quite a task, but I am still modifying and lceaning it up a bit where all of the mods are compatible, without breaking quest lines. After this, I may work on a second set, to include the others that were in conflict with the "successful" ones merged. I am going through the creatures now, making them tougher, as my standard of strength has risen (could not determine why, if you can help, please let me know) I figure tougher me ... tougher creatures. After this I will be checking each mod for thoroughness of workability, removing a few more and then burning, then playing the set.

It was a much larger undertaking than I had expected, but I just couldnt imagine playing multiple mods, keeping them installed, worrying if I lose items, quests breaking and the lot. So this is where I am today.

It takes up, including all files, roughly 1.51 gigs of hard drive space, but is turning out to be a solution to my issue of broken dialogue, quests, levelled lists, creature imbalances etc...

I want to know if I can post this as some point in the future when I think it is where it needs to be.

As for individual updates to specific esp files, I will add those later as deemed appropriate. My total number of "plugins" stands as of today at 3,424.

I will post more here when I feel it is post-aable to see how and if I can do this legally. I kept all of the original readme files for these mods in one place, maybe that will help, and yes, I have made small modifications, and some sweepi9ng modifications to make them work together, and with Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon.

Thanks guys for the support,

I wanted to add a couple things:

1) I could not get Morowind to load withmore than 250 plugins added, it always crashed. So I knew the number must be lower than that.

2) DONT USE THESE PLUGINS:
I have come across a couple plugins that just "dont work" and are not fixable:

Eden
Yahad's Underground Domain

3) Funny note: I got a German plugin to work with this set, quite hilarious as all the ID's are very very unique and it works...

Thanks,

Cracking me up.

Why would an idiot use a mod compilation of over 1350 mods that work together no matter the size?

See how many you can get working together and loaded, I dare ya :-)

well i think what he was more implying was the fact of who would actually DOWNLOAD that much, i mean yeah i'd leave my machine overnight to download something, and a gig isnt really that much on a high speed connection, as ive done several gigs in 1 day of total boredom.

also who would host that for you, i mean the traffic would be so much it would be unbareable for a simple cheap server. we're talkin like $400+ a month for somewhere to host something THAT big and allow so many transferrs

imho its just gonna be a personal project for you, unless you wanna charge people like $5 cause 1.5 gigs is gonna need a DVD not just a regular cd and then mail it to them, sry just my opinions, prove me wrong :-)
