Hello all,

Total newb question here...does anyone know of a video tutorial or a pdf tutorial anywhere on the web for this mod? I tried googling to know avail. My google and youtube search results are tainted by too many videos of oblivion play time with "enhanced hotkeys" mentioned in the comments, or description.

I am aware there is a readme file, but really prefer to have video or image instructions. I have been setting oblivion up for 7 months lol , I still haven't played the game yet. (I have OCD, so making decisions takes me a while)

I am at last at the end of setup, I am picking my UI, Hotkey mods etc. Then I am done and can finally play lol Right now I have quick wardrobe and super hotkeys installed. I am mainly just wanting to be able to switch from Thief outfit, tools and setup etc to an assassin's outfit, tools, weapon etc with a button press. Quick wardrobe mod allows for 8 changes /sets. However, I have come to the conclusion I will need around 12 wardrobe change options.

Someone on another forum recommended Enhanced Hotkeys, so here I am lol

Anyway, with the apparent complexity of Enhanced Hotkeys and my OCD issues, I am wondering if I should even delve into this mod or just stick with quick wardrobe change mod and super hotkeys. Hence why I was looking for a pdf or video tutorial, because if I have to configure too much stuff my OCD will have me tinkering with Enhanced hotkeys for the next 7 months lol Kinda wanted a tutorial that takes my brain out of the equation that says:

" for a wardrobe change set this that and this in ini file abc.ini etc."

If you know of any tutorials shout em out please.

Thanks folks for your time,

Scott

Not trying to undermine theNiceOne's work - I think it's an ultimate state-of-the-art hotkeys mod - but I agree its complexity may seem daunting.
So, Scott, if you feel that way, you may want to try a more straightforward Hotkey Pro. It helped to defuse my own frustration, too.
I do love both of these mods, but one is way more advanced and customisable, while the other one is beginner-friendly and quite sufficient for most people's needs.

Thanks for the tip Maczopikczo,

I downloaded Hotkey Pro but ran into problems. I suffer from FFS (Fat Finger Syndrome) lol so I use the arrow keys to move. This gives my fat finger room to breathe lol

Anyway I normally assign spells and weapons to numpad keys, and then use right shift, ctr, enter etc etc for jump, sneak etc etc.

Hotkey pro links the numpad arrows 2,4,6,8 with the other arrow keys I use, and the author said you have to either diasable the numpad or not use the arrow keys, so that mod is dead to me lol

I am using enhanced hotkeys, and my OCD isn't doing so bad TNO gives good comments etc in ini files. Right now I have keys 1-0 as gear hotkeys, so I can switch from mage to thief to assassin gear quickly, which is just like quick wardrobe etc.

What I would like though, is to be able to set up a hotkey, that binds my numpad keys to various spells for *each* outfit, like:

I have my thief gear set to key 0 and that changes my outfit to very light armor enchanted with life detect etc and a very light weapon.

Now normally what I do is manually bind my numpad keys to spells related to thieving, like unlock, silence, paralyze, chameleon etc

So what would be cool is if I could bind a key, say I press the T key (for thief)

And that tells enhanced hotkey to bind:

keypad 1 chameleon
keypad 2 Unlock
keypad 3 Silence
keypad 4 Telekinesis
keypad 5 Paralyze
keypad 6 Feather

Then have a key like M for mage that then binds:

keypad 1 Fire Spell
keypad 2 Ice spell
keypad 3 lightning spell
keypad 4 healing spell
keypad 5 xyz spell
keypad 6 xyz spell

IS something like that possible do you know offhand?

Or another mod that might do that or work with enhanced hotkeys?

Thanks,

Scott

If anyone has any suggestions on the above setup than great. If not I would ask one other question:

Is it possible to have more than 4 wheels?

Thanks all,

Scott

Hello folks,

Have a new issue.  I have been using EH for a little while now, but all of a sudden any of my "autocast" spells cease to work properly.

For instance I have the "H" key set to autocast a healing spell.  It worked flawlessly until today.

Now the following happens:

1.  I press H

2.  The spell icon changes to heal spell as it should.

2.a.  At the same time as #2 I draw whatever weapon I have and strike.  NO CASTing occurs.

3.  The spell icon changes back to what my currently selected spell is.

If I continue to press h I just strike again with whatever weapon is in hand.

I have installed only two mods since the last time they worked properly.  Advanced Alchemy and TNO's automatic timescale.  Disabling both does not change the problem.

Any thoughts on how best to troubleshoot this?

Thanks as always,

Scott

Wow,

Never thought I would be able to solve a problem lol

Apparently either Oblivion itself or Enhanced hotkeys **NEEDS**  a keyboard binding for the cast command.  I use a mouse button to cast spells, however Oblivion still had the default "C" key assigned to the keyboard.

Well I finally have enough magicka to cast a decent Chameleon spell so I went in and unbound the C key in oblivion.ini so that I could add it to enhanced hotkeys ini key binding file.

Thus I didn't have a KEYBOARD key bound to the "cast" command any longer and as such Enhanced Hotkeys was choking on the autocast.

I do not know if this is limited to my setup, or a conflict between the 200+ mods I have installed (Several deal with magic so maybe they are the root cause of the cast command needing a keyboard key)  Anyway, it completely solves the problem I was experiencing moments ago.  Maybe it will help someone else who wants to bind the C key to a chameleon spell.  H for health spells, C for chameleon spells.... do I have fortified intelligence or what lol

Thanks folks,

Scott

My game kept crashing even though I did all the uninstall steps.
Do yourself a favor a download a more simple hotkey mod that wont f*ck you over.
Edit: I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling my UI mod

In response to post #19409374.

luckily with modding tool program breakthroughs such as Mod Organizer this stuff isnt really an issue if you use it to install your oblivion mods :)
