When I download a mod it gives me the files instead of dazip

It's an issue with whatever internet browser you are using. It's changing the file extension to .zip. Manually edit it back to .dazip and then install as usual. (Just be certain that what you are dealing with was in fact supposed to be a .dazip archive.)

Download using IE11. Download Manually > open folder

.dazip file should be found in windows 8 - download folder.

idk about chrome, I uninstalled it after Snowden.

If the mod's Description indicates that it should be a ".dazip" file, then just rename it after you've downloaded it. Then follow the author's instructions.

Without a link to the specific mod you're talking about, can't be any more specific.

Well heck...I know I am months late here, but let me thank whoever answered this question! Been searching and searching to find out why stuff like the extra dog slot (of which there are multiple examples of how to install it) don't work for me. why didn't I have a .dazip like the example shows.... *sigh*
