This is a reminder that the patch 1.1 for the witch hunt is available. If you have the patch please tell us how it went and if it has fixed any problems. Unfortunately this is for PC only so you console owners will have to wait for a bit. You can find the patch here in the official website:

I've had it for a while now and yes it fixes every bug that was reported for 1.0, namely the post game issue, missing dialog and no autosave are all fixed. I was pleasantly surprised.

I noticed this looks like a full new version not just a patch. Is that assumption accurate?

That's what I thought, I also noticed there is a statment that there will be another file for PC coming that can be used from Windows instead of the DAupdater. I think I might wait and see if that will be a patch kit or a similar complete revision like this one is.

Witch Hunt v1.1 is indeed a full replacement for WH 1.0. Not sure why. I would not have thought that the number of files needing "fixed' were all that large, (but I wasn't part of the beta test team. )

The "standalone" (rumored to be an .exe) version hasn't been released yet, but seeing as the console versions went to Sony and Microsoft a week ago, the BioWare devs should have had it at the top of their to-do list for several days now!

I have been lucky enough to speak with someone who was one of the beta-testers. He was very satisified with the thoroughness of the testing and the resulting solution, including that they made a change based on things he noticed during his initial examination of the fix.

Since my download (using a true highspeed connection) was painless, and the installation (following the directions) easy, I've been satisifed so far. (I would like an explanation of one plot-point that I didn't expect, but that's another post! )

It will be a while before I go back there again, what did you find?

For my first full playthrough after installing v1.1, I selected a Warden who had bedded Morrigan, (up until others had... objected) but who had refused the DR. (This in contrast to the previous Warden, who was head-over-heels and would have agreed without hesitation even if it had still required the US.)

Now, admittedly, the Epilogue Slide in that DA:O playthrough had said that the person resembling Morrigan, who had been seen heading to the Frostback Mountains, "may have been with child". But I was still very surprised to have a dialogue choice early in WH of, "I want to see my child." in response to the question of why I want to find her.

Even granting that this Warden's dalliance with her resulted in her pregenancy, (and without the DR, I thought the Taint made that extremely unlikely anyway...) since she left immediately upon the refusal, just how would the Warden have known there was a child at all? And, if she were already pregnant (by the Warden) prior to the rejection of the DR, then even if my Warden had consented, it would have failed because she couldn't have conceived another child. Wouldn't she have known? I don't mean "Because any woman would know if she were pregnant." I mean because she had "the old magic" to test for/ensure success in these matters.

Hence my confusion... :ermm:

Now that you mention it, my infuriating single playthrough had that exact same scenario except for one thing; my character had bedded her right up to the point where she mentioned the ritual, can't see your child, blah-blah-blah and he said no way to the DR. So when she mentioned the lad I didn't have that gap in time that you experienced (I was still surprised by the fact my warden had a son.) IIRC she does mention "your son is fine" or something similar before you get the dialogue choice "I want to see my child." Still, I can see your confusion if you broke off relations mid game.
