I started Soldier's Peak and upon entering the building we have Sophie's ghost talking to the ghost of a mage. I actually paid attention this time and she called him by name - Avernus. Ummmm... he's not dead (yet) so how can he be a ghost? I guess it is just another case of Bioware's shoddy proofreading of storylines. In the words of the Orzammar town crier, "Epic Fail" Or am I just being a nit-picker? :whistling:

I always thought it was not so much ghosts being reimaged (Sophie's body is still running around as well) but a tragic moment in time of the last battles there. All I remember them saying was the veil was torn, and to be honest not sure what can come out of the veil since demons seem to rule the bleeping place. At least in the game.

You may be right as he appears again in the hall where the demon battle reenactment takes place. Sophie's body is a reanimated corpse so I had no trouble believing her to be a ghost. Perhaps Avernus has been there too long and between his blood magic and research he may be part in the fade and part in the "real" world.

One thing is certain though, that DLC makes a boatload of heat, my system fans are screaming.

I always viewed those scenes not as "ghosts", or "spirits" from the Fade, but "images from the past", somehow on infinite-loop in the present.

Otherwise, why would they be saying and doing the exact same things now, in front of my Party, that they did then?

There is a similar thing going on in Awakening in Kal Hirol. The ghosts replay the same scenario's over and over as you go back and forth in the thaig. Of course, Thandal has a better way of describing this phenomenon better than I.

I guess it is a matter of perception
