PenitentExile Posted January 21, 2015 Share Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) I watched Yong's Dragonborn fan movie and it led me to think - what is backstory of protagonist? Then I thought - it would be cool to have a follower, that knows something of your past, life before Skyrim. Like a sister. Idk why, but when I think of her appearance - I remember Muiri from Markarth. The plot can be smth like that - after your parents death you decided to search for a new life. That's how you got in Skyrim. But you left your sister behind and that never felt right. Now she comes to Skyrim searching for you because of some kind of trouble (like evil moneylender is trying to kill her to obtain your father's farm or maybe it's a school in Cyrodiil and she's in debts).Meeting with her can also be interesting - you receive letter from courier some woman is looking for you. But when you get to where you are supposed to meet - no one there. You ask people and learn that she left with some guy (no idea who, maybe someone who promised her house for cheap rent). You save her from some cultists/bandits, you hug (yeah, there is a hug mod, did you know? :]) and have first conversation. What should be interesting about sibling follower is the "deep stuff" you talk about. All the things you did in together in childhood and later, how she felt angry when you left for Skyrim etc. It may be even a potential romance story (I'm not talking about incest, just platonic love and that typical brother/sister jealousy like "You chose "Girl X" or a "freaking Skyrim" over me!"). About your sibling being Dragonborn - she can't shout, but she has some sort of talent too (not as cool as yours). So she can discuss what's it like being Dragonborn and your dragon-related nightmares ( :D), share with you her own experience (if she has any, still no idea about the talent). I'm thinking that Dragonborn parents could've been teachers in Cyrodiil. So, eventually (at the end of follower-related quest), your sister can open some kind of school of speechcraft somewhere in Skyrim. Your sister has follower-related quest, but I've no ideas about it yet. It can be related to why she left Cyrodiil (debts, enemies, assassination attempt cause she knew some important secrets, idk) or helping you become Dragonborn (it's hard being one and you have a depression). Maybe someone else can think of smth... As a follower I think she can be skilled in illusion magic and give you bonus in combat related to being siblings (+10 to morale :laugh: ), maybe also reduce cooldown between shouts. shiloser Posted January 22, 2015 Share Posted January 22, 2015 It probably wouldn't be super difficult to have your race selection play a part in it. Guards say different things depending on what your race is, so back tracking that, it may end up being something simple as a multiple choice question. of course though, it would only work for vanilla races. though you could have it just default Nord if it doesn't fit.
