GECK and New Vegas

im getting very pissed, i have a ton of ideas that im just waiting to do, but nooo when i get the supposedly "new" geck for new vegas, and install it and run it, all i see are all the esm's in the data directory in the fallout 3 directory not the new vegas data directory here is a "detailed" picture

Maybe the thing is confused because your game should be in your Steam folder, also installing into your program files is known to cause issues.

i doubt its because its not in the steam folder, any other suggestions? maybe there is an option to change wich folder it looks form esm's and esp's etc

This may sound dumb but it might be worth a shot, try removing the FO3 Geck if you have it installed. Might be something to do with it all basically being the same game and editors.

You have the Fallout 3 Geck inside the Fallout NV folder! It will ignore those files and search for the fallout 3 dir and use that!

Download the FALLOUT NV GECK! and install into the NV dir!

(it's on the same page as the fallout3 geck.... it was hard for me to find it so this is not your fault or stupidity -badly located download link)

yeah i think the gecks are specific to the games(i.e. new vegas geck looks for new vegas esm and esp). have to have the geck in the steam/steamapps/common/falloutnewvegas folder. Same place as the exe. Drove me nuts too untill i fugured i was downloading the wrong geck. When i did dl the right geck and place it in the steam folder it launched with no issues( just made a shortcut).
