In response to post #9516919.

You need a different version of NVSE http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip

Don't use FOMM to install, just drop the contents into your game folder (not data folder) and start the 4GB exe, that will load NVSE and the game.

No, put the original executable back, if you don't have it then have Steam verify the game, if you don't have it on Steam then you need to buy the game.

You need this version of NVSE, just overwrite what you have in there now. http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip

FNV4GB will automatically run NVSE if it has been installed, and then also start the game.

To get it all to work with FOMM ... from within FOMM click the "Settings" button, then select the "Fallout: New Vegas" tab, then enter a Custom Launch Command such that FNV4G.exe is referenced; for example, c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\fnv4gb-1-6-35262-1-6\fnv4gb.exe. Click OK and exit settings. Next, click the "File" menu bar item, then select its "Launch Game" drop-down entry, then click the "Launch Custom Fallout: New Vegas" entry. Thereafter, just click the "Launch Fallout: NV" button.

EDIT: this assumes the game is installed in the default Steam area.

NOTE: Here is a link to the updated version of this launcher: http://www.nexusmods...gas/mods/55061/?

NOTE: This assumes you have a legitimate Steam version of the game and have 64-bit Windows (Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, or later).

Both FOMM and NMM have a Custom Launch Command feature which you can tailor to run the FNV4GB launcher. FNV4GB will then automatically run NVSE if it has been installed, and then also start the game.

To do that ... from within the Mod Manager (FOMM / NMM) click the "Settings" button, then select the "Fallout: New Vegas" tab.  Now enter a "Custom Launch Command" in the "Command" field such that FNV4G.exe is referenced with a complete path specification; for example:

c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\fnv4gb.exe

Click OK and exit settings. Next, for FOMM, click the "File" menu bar item, then select its "Launch Game" drop-down entry, then click the "Launch Custom Fallout: New Vegas" entry.  Or, for NMM, select the "Launch" drop-down entry, then click the "Launch Custom Fallout: New Vegas" entry.

The above assumes the game is installed in the default Steam area, and that FNV4GB's two files (fnv4gb.exe and fnv4gb_helper.dll) are also there in the same directory where FalloutNV.exe is located, and NVSE's five files are there as well if installed.

If the game is *not* installed in the default Steam area, then you have to provide a bit more information. Let us assume that the game is actually in D:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\. Let us also assume that both FNV4GB and NVSE have been installed by copying their files into that same location as well; i.e. the main game directory. Here then is the required information for the key fields in FOMM / NMM:

New Vegas Directory: D:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\

Command (for Custom Launch Command): D:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\fnv4gb.exe

Arguments: -exe "D:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exe"

If you have a version of the game that differs from what the FNV4GB launcher expects (for example, the Eastern version instead of the Western version), then you must also directly specify the Steam App ID.  Just append the following to the end of the Arguments field with a leading Space character:  -SteamAppID #

You must replace that # symbol with the actual ID number.  To discover that number you must open the Library view within Steam, right-click the Fallout: New Vegas entry, select Properties, select Create Desktop Shortcut, right-click that newly created shortcut, and then select Properties.  Now examine the number shown within the URL text.  Use that number in place of the # symbol.  For example:

Arguments: -exe "D:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exe" -SteamAppID 22490

"I installed the game seperate folder if its matter, not to the C where my steam is."

It might simply be a directory access issue.  Try right-clicking FNV4GB.EXE and then selecting "Run as Administrator".  If it works, great.  If not, then keep reading.

FNV4GB.EXE expects the game to be installed in the default Steam area, and if not it fails.  To fix that, either (1) reinstall the game to where it is expected to be, or (2) look at the Command Line Reference section of the Read Me file (or the description page) for this mod. There is a command line argument "-exe" that must be used to specify the correct pathing if the game is not in the default place; an example is provided. Your result will be something like this:

-exe "C:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exe"

Now ... to use that, create a "shortcut" to FNV4GB.EXE on your desktop. For example, right-click FNV4GB.EXE and select the "Send To Desktop (create shortcut)" option. Then right-click that shortcut and select "Properties". Next edit the "Target" field by adding command line options at the end of whatever is already there.

For example, if FNV4GB.exe is in that directory on your G drive as you show above, and that is also the game's real directory, change the Target field from this:

"G:\Games\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas enplczru\fnv4gb.exe"

To be this:

"G:\Games\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas enplczru\fnv4gb.exe" -exe "G:\Games\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas enplczru\FalloutNV.exe"

Run the game using that shortcut.

I would love to use this mod, but the explanation in the description with all the command line stuff is confusing me. I'm running windows7 64bit UE, and my copy of Fallout NV is located @ C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas. I extracted the download to that folder and ran it, it says "original exe modified -> Executable headers failed to validate. An unmodified original exe is required. you should get Steam to validate your game cache and download unmodified versions of any files."

I tried making a shortcut to the 4GB app and added an -exe in the target line, still doesn't work.

Beyond that I don't know what to do, would greatly appreciate assistance!
