Notification for tracked mod comments

I have a little request:

In the previous notification system I liked the comment tracking section, which list all new comments on mods I'm tracking. In this new notification system I only receive notifies about the author updating the mod, but the comment tracking is gone (assuming it isn't a bug on the notifications on my side).

Why you removed it? Can you add a preference to track comments again?

Also why does the notification count not go back to zero after i have looked at all my notifications ??.Ive looked at all of them but the count is getting higher and higher so its hard to tell if i have new ones.

That's one of the intended changes as far as I know. You have to click on the red crosses on the top right corner of the notifications to remove them from the list. It's simply a more facebook-like format. As for the OP, I suspect that's a bug, which I'm also experiencing by the way.

If you go to your preferences have you got notifications for comments turned on? If yes, then it's a bug. If not, then turn them on :)

As for the counter not going to 0, that's something I'd like changed and probably will be changed.

I have all notification enabled, including "Game Specific notification".

There's a preference for "comments on your files, images and videos", but not for "comments on tracked files".

And the "notifications for files you're tracking" only works for actions made by the mod author, like "new file uploaded".

Hi Dark0ne, OP's question was about comments on mods he's tracking, and indeed in preferences there is no setting anymore for notifications for comments on tracked mods.

I hope it will come back too.

My preferences shows a setting for receiving notification on tracked mods. Mine is enabled but I am receiving none. Hope this gets fixed pronto.

The setting you are talking about is named "Receive notifications for files you're tracking". With this setting enabled you will receive a notification when a mod you are tracking is updated, but it has nothing to do with new comments.

There is another setting named "Receive notifications for comments on your files, images and videos" : that means you will receive notifications about new comments on the files, images and videos that you published on Nexus.

What we are discussing in this thread, and which is missing with the new Nexus notifications system, is a mean to receive notifications for new comments on the mods we are tracking. It was possible before, but not anymore.

I know what the thread is about. In my user preferences is the following option: "show user comments about files you are tracking". This is in the "Feeds Preference" section and not in the notification preference section and this is the setting I was talking about. If that represents a change from the way it used to be then I hope it gets fixed. Only being notified of new file uploads is hardly useful.

You said you had a setting for receiving notification on tracked mods, which was incorrect. The setting allowing to see comments for tracked files in the feeds section has always been there and is still working. If you look at the "Tracked files" tab in the Nexus home page, you'll see that new comments about mods you track are correctly displayed.

In short, with regard to the comments on tracked mods, feeds tab is still working, but notifications have disappeared. OP, you and I, we all agree it's a shame.
