In response to some useful feedback, I am completely remaking my Hjerim Deluxe mod from scratch to make improvements and resolve issues. It's going well so far but I could use some advice. My mod adds a secret basement to Hjerim, complete with all crafting needs. To give it an elegant appearance, the walls are decorated with the banners of the major holds. I have an idea for improved immersion but am not sure how to implement it, since I have no skill at scripting. The walls to either side of the entrance are adorned with the banners of the holds, set to appear when the player buys the house upgrades. On the opposite wall facing the entrance, I'd like to hang either the emperial banner or the stormcloak banner, depending on which faction the player sided with. I'd also like to hang the banners for the thieves guild and/or the Dark Brotherhood, depending on the player's membership to those guilds. How might I set this up?
