Hi all,

Here is my custom sword model I've been trying to get into Skyrim for forever. The pic show texture from inside 3ds max. but since there is so much geometry it is hard to get a unwrapped uvw so I removed the texture just to try and get the model into Skyrim....but following video tutorials my model in nifscope is fine but in the creation kit it is a image of a questionmark.

If anyone is more equiped upstairs than I am and would like to give this a try I will email you my sword in .3ds and .nif formats.

Darrbo, sometimes you have to wait more than a couple days for someone to respond to this, but just so you know, since you didn't look, there's a sticky at the top of this forum that SPECIFICALLY says not to bump threads. In fact, that's the title of the thread

I could try and get it into skyrim for you if you'd like, but it sounded like you said that you tried it without a texture? If that's the case and you are getting a "?", then I'd guess that you just need to add a texture. I know from nodding Fallout 3 that a "?" Is usually representative of a missing texture, so that's likely your problem. Try adding a texture to the model and that'll most likely fix your problem.

Question mark means the mesh is missing. Most likely due to pathing.

Have you put the mesh in /data/Meshes/YourMod?

I'd also recommend you to just save out a grey texture set for the model. Just having the mesh without any texture is a bad practice -- even if just for testing.

i think my problem is that the gold cross guard mesh when i collapsed everything onto my editable poly 3ds max gave it uneven geometry but since it didn't change the look of it, i didn't bother to fix it when i added a meshsmooth modifier and now when i try to unwrap that part to get a uvw it makes it in small separate pieces.

i have looked on youtube and websearch for any way to undo a collapse but havn't had success.

is there any way that could be done?
