My view on the races:
Argonians:Assassinly ickle lizards of doom!
Bretons:Mages that don't crumple over and die in one hit.
Altmer:Weak to themselves?Not bad overall.
Dunmer:Kewl corrupted elvies with red eyes!
Bosmer:Quick archers with friends!
Orsimer:Big green things that whack things with things.
Redguard:Black man.'Nuff said.
Nord:Vikings that luuurve that ale.
Khajiit:Kitty thieves that are fast.
Imperial:Plain old humans.Meh.

Bretons: 50pts resist magicka
+ 50 pts magicka bonus
+ 50% shield for 60s
will win the day...
They don't look especially cool (like Argonians do), but my God, are they effective!
Others races I play:
Dunmers have good overall skills, both in magic and fighting, but it's too bad you can't play an Ashland badasss that hate the humans and still have that good'ol eastern rasp they had back in Morrowind...
Redguards: well they're like tanks on a battlefield: not even a berserk orc a boosted up Nord can take down a redguard with that special racial spell of them!
Argonians look really good (most beautiful race in the game), but well, I prefer them as NPCs

My favorite race would have to be... Vampires. And yes technicly they are considered a race.

Breton + Mundane Ring = Immunity to magic (and ~1/3 chance of reflection!). Bretons are certainly a good compromise between warrior/tank and mage.

Well, my modular favo race is (Of Course!) Ren's briliant Mystic Elf. but my favo non-modular race is the Dark Elf (Cool elves with good, balanced skills) and then followed by the once elven race: The Orc's!

That depends what kind of combat stye I am leaning towards to. If I decide to be a warrior, I'll chose a redguard.
I voted highelf in the pool, yes they look creepy, but as a spellcaster, they never run out of magicka. I use a specific birthsing (astronauch) plus I am a lich. My armor set also add magicka thanks to sigil stones. There's not a single spell that I can't cast.
