Why not X3 TC / AP ?

The game known as X3 Terran Conflict has not been known by just that name for a long time now, it is generally now referred to as X3 TCAP, or just X3AP ( Albion Prelude )

Anyone making Mods for the game makes them all for X3AP, and even Egosofts own site no longer has just a forum dedicated to X3TC, its combined TCAP

Technical Support forum http://forum.egosoft.com/viewforum.php?f=93

Scripting and Modding forum http://forum.egosoft.com/viewforum.php?f=94

I have asked a few modders for the X series why not upload to Nexus :

The answer is "Because they only have a Terran Conflict nexus"

If you have a look at a few of the mods which have been uploaded, they are naming the mod with AP in the name so that it is distinguished from being just a TC mod ..

http://www.nexusmods.com/x3terranconflict/mods/2/?

So - Request, could the X3 Terran Conflict nexus be renamed to X3 TC / AP

Then it may be more widely adopted

Just in case - If there are any plans to do an X Rebirth Nexus, dont bundle that with TCAP .. Different kettle of fish, Rebirth is not X anymore. And no TC or AP scripts / mods would be compatible with it ( generally any mods for TC can also be used in AP, sometimes needing a little work to make them compatible - But the same wont be true for Rebirth mods, I am pretty sure that should be a separate Nexus )

Edit : Just noticed you already have an X Rebirth Nexus - Which makes me wonder why Albion Prelude was skipped entirely ?, AP is the best out of the whole series with a lot of long term bugs finally fixed by Egosoft after so many years, which were not fixed in TC, and is why everyone who mods the X series is modding AP as a preference to TC.

Warning, necromancy imminent, but purposeful.

The problem is, for one, if you were to even consider incorporation into NMM, it'd be horrifying, (I've played X3TC, so I've used that game's mod manager before,) there are a number of possible methods of implementation as far as dividing one nexus into two, and they are all very messy. So the options are, you have a category split, you have mod authors identify which game their mod is for in either the title of their mod, the description, or even a tag.

And then, if you choose the category split option, you have the problem of those using the search bar at the top getting results for both TC and AP.

The second option is more viable, but requires people to actually pay some attention, which at times, many are incapable of doing. One could even put which game it is for in the filename.

I think the situation now got worse .. Since the FileFront mass grab and upload, the X3 Nexus is now mostly just a bunch of no documentation / no supporting author uploads - The problem with that being now that X3TC and AP were updated yesterday, none of those grabbed from FileFront can be trusted to work with the new update, and there is no author to question, let alone hope for updates from to make them compatible - With the odd actual uploads from an author if you can find them among the mass uploads.

What a mess Nexus made of potentially supporting X.

I came in here today with the idea I may upload and further support a few old mods because TXU went down permanently .. Having looked at the state X3 Nexus is in I have dropped the idea in the bin.

Edit : LOL at "necromancy" .. In this forum which currently consists of three topics, I dont think anyones conversations will be getting buried off the front page anytime soon.
