I wasn't $upri$ed.

Official Announcement

1UP news

The links say it all. There will be a TES Travels: Oblivion for the PSP, and the original one for the PS3.

There is even a new faction for the PS3 version of the game. If it's a good one, I hope it'll be avaiable for pc/Xbox 360 too.
From the 1UP news page:

Here's what we know so far. The game will introduce a new faction to the Oblivion world, one that's available right at the beginning called Knights of the Nine and described by the developers as "the good Dark Brotherhood." The goal here is to become the Divine Crusader (think part warrior, part priest), and the quest features new locations, characters, armor and weapons.

"Oblivion has these really good character archetypes for evil," says executive producer Todd Howard. "It has the Dark Brotherhood: You get your outfit, you feel like an assassin, you feel like an evil guy, [and] you role-play like an evil guy. We [didn't] have the opposite end of that. There [was] very little reward for being a goody two-shoes."

Screenshots on the PS 3 (with new Knights of the Nine armor)

This crushes the last piece of hope I had on TES V (if made) to be focussed on the PC rather than the xbox360 or other platforms... Oh well, PSP'ers and PS3'ers, enjoy!

I agree. But I suppose people who like having less controls and such will get to enjoy it now.

The Knights of the Nine sounds pretty neat, they should release it as a mod for PC Oblivion. If there was enough new content in it, I would buy it.

You're forgetting the stupid terrorists made it so any electronic device you bring on will either be fried in the x-ray machine or pulled apart by the security guards!

I can't, never been on one. o_O

I think Oblivion for the PSP would take up a lot of space... and batteries. I wonder if the official plugins will be avaiable for the PS3 and PSP too and how.

Well first off the PS3 willll have a desant internet on it so that is how you willl download the plugins. and secondly i don't think oblivion will work on PSP. a) there is no second analog stick on the PSP so you can't move in the first person propally. b) the graphics on the psp version will not be that good. anyway it may be raleased on PC but think they should realease a low graphic version for people like me who's PCs arn't that good.

Which could be the reason why there are no Oblivion PSP screenshots yet.

And people with low pc's can always download tons of mods that increase performance. Wiseman's reduced textures, short grass, low poly grass, quiet feet, no lights flicker... And tweaking the ini (with a guide) is simple and works pretty well.

Oblivion isn't going to be out for the PSP, to clarify. TES Oblivion: Travels is coming out for the PSP, which is a drastically simplified version, I think the same as the one they released for mobile phones. Just simple bird's eye view hack 'n slash through about 10 dungeons.

Interesting though. I won't be getting it for PS3, there's no point. Especially since they'll be charging near full price for it, if not £50, I bet.
