SkyRe + Deadly Combat; Guards Taking a Ton of Hits

Hello all,

I've recently picked my modded Skyrim back up (I'm pretty new to this). Anyways, I started a new character, and two of my 100 or so mods include Skyre and Deadly Combat. I'll cut to the chase: when I swing my broadsword at level one at a random NPC in Windhelm, they die in a few hits. The guards, however, take a ton of hits (it would probably take 20 if I could survive that long). They just about one shot me. Granted I expect that in deadly combat with no armor. I have no vendetta with guards or anything, I'm just testing stuff. On my most recent try I realized I should probably turn off the esp in Mod Organizer for Skyre Combat. So I did but nothing changed.

I know I'm level one and by no means do I expect instant gratification, but will guards actually die from a few swings of a sword if my light weaponry (skyre tree) is higher? Or is there some scaling problem going on? I also play with ASIS, but I don't think that affects this. Please let me know; I don't want to play more only to find out I need to change settings and start fresh with a new character!!!

Thanks in advance!

All right, so I've done some testing. But I still need help. It seems that if I have Skyre combat esp and Deadly Combat esp at the same time, it matters not. It just acts as though I just have deadly combat on (I guess because deadly combat is highest in my esp load order). Still, guards still only take a little damage, not much more than with both modules turned off.

I know deadly combat allows you to stagger npc's with normal attacks, and I notice it sometimes (I was testing with god mode). Whenever I shoot someone with an arrow, it staggers them. Physical hits, less so. However I almost never stagger... And deadly combat assures that nearly every hit staggers. I even turned the spamming restrictions on staggering within the mod off.

I'm just trying to tell if it's working at all. NPC's take about 3 sword slashes, though I am a level 1. Could it be Skytweak? I'm just trying to figure out if it's working...

I can 2-shot bandits with a crossbow at level 1 so that seems accurate. Also anything that hits me basically kills me. I expect that.

What I don't expect is a two-handed guard who takes 20 swings to kill.

Can anyone help me out and let me know if this is normal for deadly combat?
