Hello everyone
Ive been installing this game for weeks and i was almost done with all the necessary mods i wanted until ran into a very tricky one:

Looking for a hairstyle i downloaded SKS Rens and i got two compressed packages but neither of them works

-The first one comes with 20 hairstyles with meshes in .egm and .nif format, and thextures in .dds format BUT just moving them to data file doesnt work (im guessing its because of the lack of a .esp file in data folder)

-The second one says something about 117 merged with SKS and it comes with 32 mesh files in .egm format, no textures and a .esp file but the instructions are in japanese so i dont understand if its a mod or a modders resource and much less how to install it.

So the thing is how can i use the hairstyles in my characters?, do i have to create a .esp file? is it enough just creating it or do i have to do something else? is that the way or something else entirely different?... well many questions but basically how can i use them and if a have to mod something; how can i do it

any ideas or advices?

can you please post a link to the mod you have downloaded??
if you do that, i will try to help you out with this

and in general, if you want to learn how to add the hairs to races, i can try and help you on that as well

if the mod is found on the Nexus, there should be no problem if he is posting a link
and if the mod isn't from here, then i'm not sure he can ask for help with it

so if he can't post a link, i don't think he is supposed to ask for help as well
and since i don't know the exact name of the mod, i can't search for it (and if it's not here, how can i search for it??)

anyhow, if you want help with getting the hairs to work, i can try and instruct you on how to make the esp file

just like you said didnt want to get banned... aparently there are some complicated issues with that mod

but i found the two of them in google with the name SKS rens... first two links

even with google translate, couldn't understand a damn thing from the site
so i'll see what the file has, and i'll try to help you along here, if i can figure it out for myself

Right hanks! you probably found the japanese site... thats where the second mod i said was... im starting to think the first one i found would work better because it only lacks the .esp file
that one is in google also, it says in the mod detectives that its found by putting in SKS rens medifire

It's not on the Nexus. It's mentioned many numerous times in the Mod Detectives thread. The hairs are converted custom content from the Sims games.

Sure he can. He just basically wants to know how to add hairs to races. That's pretty generic information.

Google? Dogpile? Alta Vista? Excite? Not all mods are searchable on the great Nexus, including my own mods.

sorry, just not sure on the rules about requesting help with mods that aren't from here (though you do make a good point)
and i did search on google, though some mods you just can't find on google (believe me, i've had my share of searching, and if i don't know the exact name, sometimes all i find is bumb results, like question threads and such)

i did search and found the mod in question, and now seeing if i can figure it out
