Japanese and Chinese mods

Hi Everyone!

 

I was just wondering a few things. I have been playing around with a lot of mods on Nexus since I joined (thank you all by the way, all u guys r great!).

Along the way I now have stumbled across a problem I am not sure how to work out, or if it is even recommended. It seems a lot of clothes and

armor modding goes on in China and Japan, more focussed on cosplay etc. I managed to dowload a few by just guessing where the download buttons were

and figuring out that the only english I could read was CBBEV3 haha.

 

Nevertheless, they almost always NEVER WORK! not even when you tweak your loadorder. Then in one forum I read you have to

have some sort of translator installed to be able to run files made for tesv files from other (in this case Asian) countries.

But that was all the helpfulness that thread had, it had no links or how-to's. They must have just forgot.

 

Does anyone know more about this? It would be awesome getting some of those japanese files/clothing mods to work.

Am looking for eyeware and sort of casual (or cosplay) clothings to do some Skyrim candid and portrait photography of my character.

I've tried a lot of Chinese, Japanese, and (mostly) Korean mods. The NPC replacers by Korean modder sidearm93 are the best out there IMO, and the clothing mods are just crazy. And yes they can have errors and omissions, so it helps to know how to edit things with mod tools like Nifscope and TES5Edit. Just use a good translator in your browser - even with that, you'll have to translate the translation. They will many times point to obscure, hard to find mods for dependencies for their mod to work, but I've never had to install any translator software to run anything, nor would I (sounds like a problem waiting to happen). The only thing I can think someone may be referring to like that is Microsoft Applocale, which you need to run Japanese games that aren't sold out of Japan. Some of the sites require joining or reputation points to download anything. The download links can be a challenge to locate, usually a tiny down arrow or similar. They don't make things NMM or MO friendly in their downloads, so I usually repackage what I download to make them that way for my use.

Tesvedit also has a nice script to reverse default items names and descriptions to vanilla ESM value, great for NC re-placers from non English CK created files.
