Textures go missing after awhile playing (Purple Texture Glitch?)

I've played Modded Skyrim for a long time but this is my first time getting this issue. I recently redid all of my mods after having some horrible CTD issues and finally got the game running again, but now after awhile of playing I start having new textures not load into the game and instead get just purple cel shading around meshes. It's not a missing texture problem because saving and reloading the game fixes it. I would be inclined to think maybe it's due to super high quality textures running me out of VRAM but I find this doubtful, aside from the High Resolution Texture Pack and some high quality skin I haven disabled the majority of texture improvement mods and I don't have a bad rig. My specs:

Intel i7 4790K @ 4GHz

Asus Maximus VII Hero Motherboard

Ultra LSP750 750-Watt PSU

16GB DDR3 RAM

Zotac GEForce GTX 970 (4GB VRAM)

2TB Seagate HDD Sata 6.0 x2 (one HDD for OS, one for game installs)

Windows 7 Professional SP1

2 ACER 21.5" LCD Monitors @ 1920x1080 Resolution (Connected via DVI)

I'm running a high mod load right now (238) but have ran similar high loads in the past with a weaker system and never had these issues. All mods except the official ESMs are loaded through Mod Organizer, cleaned with TES5Edit, ordered with LOOT, and Bash Patched. So any idea what it might be?

You might not like it but it's probably that and it's not your specs fault it's Skyrim's. This used to be a common issue before the large address aware patch and Skyrim's second or third update (which included a similar patch) you'd be running along everything fine and then, bam, missing textures. Moving to a new cell or reloading will "fix" the issue but really there's not much else to be done I'm afraid.

Thats usually a Vram issue. It struggles to load textures and eventually gives up and so they turn purple and will eventually cause a crash. Try DDSopt or Optimizer Textures to compress and free up some Vram. This won't work for Bethesda's official HD texture pack though as they're inside BSA's you'd have to extract to loose files first and then re-compress after, suggest BSAopt for that.

The 4gb on that card should be more than enough though. :/ Are you using the latest versions of SKSE with the memory patch and ENB boost?

I am currently having issues updating the drivers for my card, the driver itself may also be wonky at the moment. I will try to troubleshoot this and see if it has any effect.

The main reason I'm skeptical about the VRAM being an issue is I have ran most of these mods (with the exception of some new companion and house mods) on previous installs, though without Mod Organizer (through NMM). That was on a GEForce GTX 550 Ti with 4GB VRAM, if it could handle the high res patch I don't see why my current rig shouldn't.

Can I run Optimizer Textures in Mod Organizer? I assume I just have it scan the texture folder and it compresses them? Not really sure how it works.

I'll finish trying to update drivers and see if that has any net effect then report back.

UPDATE: Driver has been updated successfully but no apparent differences can be seen.

This post is similar to what I posted last year. Everyone suggested ENBoost and that was the only thing that resolved the issue for me. I was skeptical because I had nearly the same mods as on my older computer which ran without too much issue, but ENBoost was what did the trick. It not only resolved all missing textures but created a much more stable Skyrim all around.

I installed the ENBoost and did the Memory tweaks in the INI as suggested by the STEP Wiki, It does seem to alleviate some of my CTDs on cell transfer issues, I will have to play a bit longer to determine if it's solved the VRAM issue.
